About the Role

We are seeking highly experienced machinists, construction professionals, and field operations specialists with strong expertise in technical drawing interpretation, CNC machining, construction planning, drilling and mining plans, or fire and building plan review.

You’ll apply practical industry knowledge to evaluate technical drawings, shop and field documentation, and plan sets. The work requires strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex real-world scenarios clearly in both written and verbal formats.

No prior AI experience is required. Your professional expertise and ability to communicate practical technical reasoning are the primary qualifications.

What You’ll Do

  • Review and interpret advanced machining drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.

  • Analyze CNC setup and programming documentation and provide practical feedback on machining processes, best practices, and common troubleshooting challenges.

  • Evaluate construction plan sheets and identify potential issues, missing information, inconsistencies, or opportunities to improve clarity.

  • Interpret drilling and mine plans and assess their accuracy, feasibility, and relevant regulatory considerations.

  • Review fire and building plans with consideration for applicable US codes, standards, safety requirements, and compliance.

  • Provide precise written and verbal explanations of technical concepts, drawing interpretations, field implementation, and shop or field scenarios.

  • Apply domain-specific expertise to ensure technical assessments reflect authentic real-world industry practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience as a master machinist, construction superintendent, drilling engineer, mine planner, cabinetmaker, fire officer, or closely related technical professional.

  • Strong experience interpreting technical drawings, construction plans, shop documentation, or field plans.

  • Expertise in CNC programming, machining processes, and GD&T application where applicable.

  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant US construction, fire, or mining codes and standards.

  • Experience reviewing fire and building plans with a focus on safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to analyze complex technical or field scenarios and explain conclusions clearly.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently on remote projects while delivering accurate, detailed technical input.

Engagement & Compensation

  • Contractor engagement.

  • Remote work, with US-based professionals preferred.

  • $55–$100 per hour.

  • Annual compensation equivalent of $105,600–$192,000 based on 40 hours per week across 48 workable weeks. This is an annualized full-time equivalent and does not represent guaranteed annual earnings.

  • No prior AI experience is required.
