About the Role

We are seeking Tamil language experts to evaluate spoken Tamil and help improve the accuracy, fluency, and naturalness of AI-generated speech.

You will review audio clips, assess pronunciation and linguistic authenticity, and provide clear, evidence-based feedback in English. Your knowledge of Tamil language patterns, intonation, and natural speech will help establish reliable quality standards for AI language systems.

Prior AI experience is not required. Native-level Tamil proficiency, strong listening skills, and careful linguistic evaluation are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Listen to Tamil audio clips and evaluate the speaker's or AI model's fluency, naturalness, and native-level language use.

• Assess pronunciation, intonation, rhythm, and other relevant linguistic characteristics against established evaluation guidelines.

• Identify unnatural phrasing, pronunciation inconsistencies, and other issues affecting the authenticity of spoken Tamil.

• Document findings in concise, clear English, explaining the linguistic factors behind each assessment.

• Provide consistent, evidence-based justifications that support reliable evaluation outcomes.

• Consult project coordinators to clarify ambiguous audio content or assessment requirements.

• Complete assigned audio evaluation tasks accurately and within agreed deadlines.

• Contribute linguistic insights that support improvements in AI-generated Tamil speech and language understanding.

Required Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Tamil, with a strong command of spoken and written Tamil.

• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, with the ability to communicate evaluation findings clearly in writing and verbally.

• Excellent listening skills and the ability to distinguish subtle differences in pronunciation, intonation, fluency, and linguistic naturalness.

• Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain language assessments with clear supporting reasoning.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to follow evaluation guidelines consistently.

• Reliable time management and the ability to complete repetitive, detail-oriented audio review tasks accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in linguistics, phonetics, voice specialization, audio engineering, or a related discipline.

• Experience with audio analysis, transcription, pronunciation assessment, or linguistic quality evaluation.

• Experience in teaching, media, communications, or other fields involving spoken language.

• Familiarity with evaluating AI-generated speech or language outputs.

Relevant professional experience is an advantage, but prior AI training experience is not required.

Work Arrangement

This is a remote contract opportunity focused on Tamil audio evaluation and AI language quality assessment. You will work with established guidelines to review assigned audio clips, document your findings, and deliver consistent, high-quality evaluations within project timelines.
