Role overview:

As a Lead Technical Program Manager, you serve as the technical anchor for high-impact, organization-wide initiatives across Target’s Cloud & Compute platforms. You provide program leadership for large-scale infrastructure modernization efforts focussing on virtualization platform strategy, compute infrastructure transformation, data center modernization, resiliency improvements, and cloud adoption initiatives.

You create, own, and drive the strategic plan required to deliver complex platform capabilities spanning multiple engineering teams and technology domains. You develop a deep understanding of compute and virtualization architectures, infrastructure dependencies, platform roadmaps, and operational requirements, enabling you to translate technical strategy into executable program plans.

In this role, you will partner closely with engineering, product, architecture, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise-scale programs such as virtualization platform lifecycle management, workload migration and modernization, platform capacity expansion, data center exits, resiliency enhancements, automation adoption, and infrastructure standardization efforts.

You align technical roadmaps and priorities across teams to ensure successful execution against business and technology objectives. You proactively identify bottlenecks, manage risks, drive dependency resolution, evaluate tradeoffs, and establish mechanisms that enable effective collaboration across product and platform teams.

You will facilitate technical planning and architecture reviews, lead cross-functional execution, coordinate large-scale infrastructure migrations, and provide visibility into program health, delivery milestones, risks, and outcomes. You serve as a point of escalation for technical and program challenges while ensuring leadership stakeholders have clear insights into progress, dependencies, and emerging constraints.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive execution of large-scale Cloud & Compute and virtualization programs.
  • Partner with platform/application engineering teams to deliver virtualization platform evolution and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Coordinate complex workload migration programs across data centers, virtualization environments, and cloud platforms.
  • Align product and platform roadmaps to support business growth, resiliency, scalability, and operational excellence objectives.
  • Develop and maintain integrated delivery plans, dependency maps, milestone tracking, and executive reporting mechanisms.
