Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, and API testing frameworks.
  • Design and execute UI automation test cases for web applications using Selenium and Playwright.
  • Create and maintain BDD feature files, scenarios, step definitions, and reusable Cucumber frameworks.
  • Perform API testing, including functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end validation.
  • Validate API requests and responses, including status codes, headers, payloads, and authentication.
  • Write and execute SQL queries for backend data validation and database integrity checks.
  • Perform end-to-end testing across UI, API, and database layers.
  • Develop scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks using Java.
  • Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot defects in collaboration with development teams.
  • Execute smoke, sanity, functional, integration, and regression testing.
  • Integrate automation test suites with CI/CD pipelines and analyze test execution results.
  • Participate in test planning, estimation, code reviews, defect triage, and release validation.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test scenarios.

Skill Requirements

  • Strong programming knowledge in Java, including OOP concepts, collections, exception handling, and basic file handling.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, locators, waits, browser handling, actions, screenshots, and Page Object Model.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright for web automation, locators, assertions, browser contexts, and parallel execution.
  • Good understanding of API testing, REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, headers, authentication, and JSON.
  • Experience with API testing tools/frameworks such as Postman and/or REST Assured.
  • Strong SQL knowledge, including SELECT, JOINs, GROUP BY, subqueries, aggregate functions, and data validation.
  • Good understanding of Cucumber/BDD, Gherkin syntax, feature files, Scenario Outline, Background, hooks, and step definitions.
  • Knowledge of JUnit/TestNG and Maven/Gradle.
  • Familiarity with Git/version control and CI/CD tools.
  • Understanding of automation framework design, reusable components, coding standards, and debugging.
  • Ability to convert business/functional requirements into effective test scenarios and automation scripts.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
