We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer - SugarCRM to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise-scale CRM solutions built on the SugarCRM platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong SugarCRM development expertise combined with emerging AI/Generative AI knowledge to help modernize customer engagement, service operations, case management, and business automation processes.

The role involves working closely with business stakeholders, architects, product owners, and cross-functional development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing CRM solutions integrated with multiple enterprise applications and AI-powered capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

SugarCRM Development & Architecture

• Design, develop, configure, and customize SugarCRM modules, workflows, business rules, and user interfaces.
• Develop custom SugarCRM extensions using PHP, JavaScript, REST APIs, Logic Hooks, Scheduler Jobs, and custom modules.
• Implement and maintain SugarCRM integrations with external systems through APIs, middleware platforms, batch processing, and event-driven architectures.
• Support data migration, data synchronization, and CRM transformation initiatives.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex production issues.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security practices, and software engineering best practices.

Integration & Enterprise Solutions

• Develop and support integration with third-party applications, contact center solutions, communication platforms, payment systems, and customer databases.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices supporting CRM operations.
• Support file-based and real-time integrations involving SFTP, message queues, web services, and cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects to ensure scalable and resilient solution designs.

AI & Automation Initiatives

• Leverage Generative AI and AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and solution quality.
• Design AI-enabled CRM capabilities such as: Intelligent case routing
• Agent assist recommendations
• Customer sentiment analysis
• Knowledge-based response generation
• Automated case summarization
• Predictive customer insights
• Integrate AI services using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or equivalent platforms.
• Evaluate and implement AI-powered automation opportunities across customer service and case management workflows.

DevOps & Quality Engineering

• Participate in CI/CD implementation and release management processes.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior team members.
• Develop unit tests and support functional, system, integration, and performance testing activities.
• Monitor application performance and implement optimization strategies.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor developers and provide technical guidance across SugarCRM initiatives.
• Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions.
• Estimate effort, manage technical risks, and contribute to project planning.
• Work with global teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5-8+ years of software development experience.
• 3-5+ years of hands-on SugarCRM development experience.
