Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora,你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia, but our hubs in Beijing and Wuhan are home to our operations in China. Our China hubs have been designed with you in mind - a space for you to come together and connect with your team, both near and far. With delicious breakfast and lunch meals provided (and with plenty of snacks), you'll always stay fuelled to take on the day. Zoom the Sydney team with tea and biscuit? You got it!

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

About the Role

We're looking for a creative and community-driven Community Lead to shape and grow Canva's community ecosystem in China. In this role, you'll develop and execute Canva's community strategy across students, creators, educators, and other key user groups, building vibrant communities that inspire creativity and engagement.

You'll lead both online community programs and offline initiatives, including Campus Ambassador and Creator programs, while partnering across teams to strengthen Canva's brand presence, deepen user engagement, and help more people discover and love Canva.

What You'll Do

Community Strategy & Ecosystem Development

  • Develop and execute Canva China's community strategy and annual community roadmap.
  • Build, grow, and manage communities across campus, creator, and education audiences, driving sustainable growth and engagement.
  • Design, launch, and continuously optimize community programs, including the Campus Ambassador Program, National College Advertising Art Competition (大广赛), and Creator initiatives.

Community Operations & Content

  • Create and manage the community content and events calendar, delivering engaging online sessions, workshops, campaigns, and community activities.
  • Manage community communication channels, foster meaningful engagement, gather user feedback, and identify opportunities to improve the product and community experience.

Events & Program Management

  • Plan and execute both online and offline community and brand events, including the National College Advertising Art Competition (大广赛), campus workshops, roadshows, creator meetups, and other engagement initiatives.
  • Own end-to-end event management, including planning, budgeting, vendor management, onsite execution, and post-event analysis.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Community Growth

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product, and other cross-functional teams to drive community growth and amplify Canva's brand.
  • Establish community performance metrics and leverage data to measure growth, engagement, and event effectiveness, continuously optimizing community strategies based on insights.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in community management, brand marketing, user growth, event marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience building and scaling engaged communities, ideally within campus, education, creator, or internet platform ecosystems.
  • Strong experience planning and delivering large-scale online and offline events and managing complex projects from end to end.
  • Deep understanding of China's social media landscape and community platforms, with the ability to grow engagement through compelling content and community initiatives.
  • Excellent project management, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to drive complex initiatives effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to optimize community growth, engagement, and program performance.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with AI tools and products, with the ability to leverage AI to enhance content creation, community operations, and event execution, while exploring AI-driven approaches to community growth.
  • Strong English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams.
  • Experience managing campus partnerships, Campus Ambassador programs, or Creator programs.
  • A genuine passion for creativity, education, and community building, with strong alignment to Canva's mission and values.

The A-Player Standard

We're setting a high bar—because International is becoming Canva's biggest growth driver, and we need exceptional people driving it.

What "A-Player" means in this role:

  • Strategic thinker: You define what should be done and why (not just execute)
  • Relationship builder: You make collaboration easy and productive
  • Problem solver: You're resourceful and resilient when challenges arise
  • Data-driven: You use insights to drive decisions and demonstrate impact
  • Ownership mindset: You act like it's your business, not just your job
  • Growth-oriented: You're constantly learning, adapting, and improving
