We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to sit between our platform and the people who use it, quickly turning what our team and our clients actually need into working software.

Who we are 👪

We believe live music is one of the best things humans do, and that far more artists deserve to make a living from it than currently can. That's the opportunity we're building for.

The industry still runs on cold emails and who-knows-who, and it's about to be rebuilt. AI now lets small teams achieve incredible things, and we intend to be the team that rebuilds this one.

Otherworldly is an AI-native talent management and booking company. We run an actual roster, meaning real tours, real riders, real settlements, and we're turning everything we've learned into agentic infrastructure. That means a database of 250,000+ bookers worldwide and algorithmic pitching systems that get the right artist in front of the right promoter at scale.

It's working. We closed our seed round with roster and revenue traction already built. Between us, we've managed No.1 artists and Grammy nominees, led strategy for household-name brands, and founded YC-backed companies. Most music-tech is built by people who've never booked a show, but we book shows every week.

Tasks

Most companies keep their engineers away from customers.

We do the opposite.

Our team runs real tours, pitches real promoters, and manages real artists every day, and every one of those workflows is a system waiting to be built. Your job is to live at that boundary. That means watching the work happen, finding the friction, and shipping the feature that removes it.

  • Embed with the booking and artist-care teams. Sit with them, watch how they actually work, and turn the messiest, most manual parts of their day into software
  • Build and ship end-to-end. You'll take a problem from "the team keeps doing this by hand" to a deployed, working feature, often in days, not sprints
  • Own the last mile of the agentic platform. The integrations, workflows, and interfaces that decide whether our AI systems actually provide value
  • Close the loop between roster and product. You're the person who hears an artist's or booker's real problem and comes back with a solution, then feeds what you learn back into the core platform
  • Be the technical face to our users when it counts. You're comfortable in the room with a manager, a promoter, or an artist, not just behind a screen

Requirements

You'll thrive here if...

🚢 You ship fast and talk to users. You're comfortable reading a spec or sitting with the person who has the problem. You prototype, iterate, and get something working fast.

🛠 You're a generalist who finishes things. Frontend, backend, glue code, an LLM call, a scrappy integration, you'll do whatever the problem needs, and you take it all the way to deployed and used

📈 You hold yourself to a high bar. You've shown ambition and excellence somewhere in your life - professionally, academically, or otherwise, and you want your work to matter

🎵 You love music, or want to work for people who do. Everything we build exists to get artists booked, paid, and heard.

Our must-have Requirements 🤝

  • Strong full-stack engineering experience. You can build and ship a working product feature end-to-end, from data to interface, without waiting on anyone
  • Comfort integrating LLMs into real products. You feel comfortable with API calls, prompt design, structured outputs, and knowing when the model is the wrong tool
  • A track record of shipping fast in ambiguous, early-stage environments. Be that startups, founding teams, or your own projects
  • Excellent communication and a genuine willingness to spend time with non-technical users, understand their work, and earn their trust
  • Solid Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, and the pragmatism to pick up whatever the job needs

Strong plus ✅

  • Experience as a forward deployed / solutions / founding engineer, or any role where you owned the boundary between product and customer
  • Familiarity with agentic frameworks and the LLM stack (embeddings, vector DBs, RAG, evaluation)
  • Background building internal tools, workflow automation, or CRM/outbound systems ● A real connection to the music industry or its tools

Benefits

What we offer 🎁

  • Early-stage equity and genuine ownership of the core agentic architecture
  • Direct influence on the product roadmap from day one
  • A front-row seat to an industry being rebuilt, working from Berlin, one of the world's great music cities
  • Access to one of the most exciting sectors on earth, working with musicians, venues, brands, and talent agents.
  • Company laptop
  • Health insurance
  • Sports club memberships
  • 5 days/week in our Berlin office, working side-by-side with the whole team
  • Blue Card EU Visa sponsorship if required
