At Klim, we work with farmers and food companies to make regenerative agriculture scalable and financially rewarding for farmers. Through our platform, we help farmers restore soil health, increase biodiversity and capture carbon while creating new, reliable income streams.

We’re a Berlin-based AgriTech startup backed by $22M in Series A funding, partnering with global food leaders such as Nestlé and Kaufland to reduce emissions across their supply chains and build long-term resilience. Since 2020, we’ve supported 3,500 farmers managing over 900,000 hectares.

If you’re passionate about building a sustainable food system and driving real climate impact, join us and help create a healthier planet!

Your mission:

As our (Senior) Finance Manager, you will run all aspects of Finance at Klim. From HGB accounting and the monthly and annual close, through day-to-day financial operations, to audits, controlling and finance projects — you own the full breadth of the finance function end-to-end. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with unusually broad responsibility: you are the person who keeps our financial engine room running accurately, reliably and on time, and who continuously makes it simpler, faster and more automated. You are supported by a working student whose work you steer, and you report directly to our COO.

This role is a great fit for you if you are a finance all-rounder who wants genuine ownership of the entire finance function and the opportunity to make a real impact from day one. With a broad mix of strategic, tactical and operational responsibility, you’ll have plenty of room to shape how we work, improve what’s already there and build an automated Finance function.

Your responsibilities:

  • Own our HGB-compliant accounting: run the month-end and year-end close and deliver accurate, timely financial statements with our external accountants.
  • Run financial operations end-to-end: accounts receivable and payable, tax-compliant invoicing, payment runs, expense flows and cash management.
  • Manage statutory reporting and tax topics (e.g. Jahresabschluss / annual financial statements, VAT) together with our external tax advisors.
  • Prepare and manage the annual audit: audit files, documentation and communication with auditors.
  • Support controlling and strategic finance topics: management reporting, analyses and spreadsheet-based models that inform business decisions.
  • Be the driving force behind the introduction of innovative AI-based processes, building a state-of-the-art efficient and effective finance setup.
  • Manage and develop our finance working student.

Your profile:

  • 3–5 years of experience in accounting and/or finance roles.
  • Solid HGB accounting experience, including month-end and year-end close.
  • Hands-on experience in financial operations (invoicing, payments, expense management, cash).
  • Very diligent and reliable: high attention to detail, structured, and on top of many short- and long-term deadlines.
  • You are highly autonomous and have a hands-on mentality: you are comfortable owning the full breath of the finance function. You take responsibility for getting things done and you are very good at collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience driving innovation and AI in Finance: You have designed, optimized and automated processes and are confident using AI tools.
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).

Your benefits:

  • Opportunity: Be part of our journey from the very beginning, working on an equal footing with the leadership team to build a new company.
  • Impact: Make a daily and active contribution to combating climate change, promoting consumer education, and fostering fair conditions for our climate-conscious farmers.
  • Autonomy: Take ownership of your projects and enjoy a high degree of creative freedom.
  • Flexible work model: At Klim, we foster a flexible, hybrid work approach and facilitate remote work (within the EU). It is advantageous for this role if you live in Berlin or can be present in our office regularly.
  • Additional benefits for Germany-based employees: We offer a subsidy for a membership in Urban Sports Club or the Deutschlandticket, a company pension scheme, plus team lunches (if based in Berlin) and regular team events.

At Klim, we believe that a thriving workplace is built on the diverse backgrounds, talents, and perspectives of our team. We grow stronger together by embracing and building on each individual’s unique strengths.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. All hiring and personnel decisions are made solely based on qualifications, performance, and the needs of the company - ensuring fairness and equal opportunity for all.

If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. You might be the perfect fit for our team in ways you don’t yet realize!
