Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary and experienced leader to serve as the Vice President for our AI and Automation team. In this role, you will lead a specialized team of AI engineers and automation experts to design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade intelligent solutions. Your primary objective will be to transform how Third-Party Management assesses, monitors, and manages supplier and vendor risks through the strategic application of AI and automation technologies like Python and Xceptor.
This senior role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and exceptional people leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the team's technical direction, managing the end-to-end delivery of complex projects, and fostering the growth of a high-performing team. You will act as a key partner to business leaders, data engineers, and enterprise governance teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and impactful AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and Mentor: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of AI engineers and automation specialists in India. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Strategic Planning: Define and execute the strategic roadmap for AI and automation within the Third-Party Management function, aligning with broader business objectives.
- Talent Development: Oversee the career development, performance management, and recruitment of team members.
- Technical Vision: Establish the team’s technical vision and standards for building AI models, automation workflows, and intelligent applications.
Solution Delivery & Technical Oversight
- Oversee Development: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions, from ideation and design through to deployment and production support. This includes solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic AI architectures.
- Provide Guidance: Offer expert technical guidance and architectural oversight on projects involving AI-powered copilots, knowledge assistants, and complex workflow automation using Python and Xceptor.
- Ensure Quality: Champion engineering excellence by ensuring the team delivers clean, modular, and production-ready code for reusable AI services, APIs, and components.
- Manage Delivery: Direct the development of multi-agent workflows and the engineering of enterprise knowledge repositories using vector databases and knowledge graphs.
Program & Stakeholder Management
- Business Partnership: Serve as the primary point of contact for senior business stakeholders to understand strategic challenges, identify opportunities for AI, and ensure solutions deliver business value.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive collaboration with technology, architecture, cybersecurity, data engineering, and AI governance teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance.
- Program Management: Manage the team’s project portfolio, defining priorities, allocating resources, and communicating progress to leadership.
Governance & Best Practices
- Enforce Compliance: Ensure all AI solutions strictly adhere to enterprise governance, security, and model risk management requirements.
- Champion Best Practices: Establish and promote best practices for MLOps/LLMOps, including model evaluation, monitoring, auditability, and explainability.
- Drive Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and continuously evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance the team's capabilities and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven leadership experience, with a strong track record of managing and developing a team of technical professionals (engineers, data scientists).
- Significant hands-on experience in software engineering, AI engineering, analytics, or data science.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, successfully delivering complex technical solutions from concept through to production.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience building REST APIs and backend applications.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following:
- Leading teams in LLM application development (RAG, Agentic AI).
- Managing projects involving automation platforms like Xceptor.
- Vector databases, Knowledge Graphs, and AI orchestration frameworks.
- MLOps, LLMOps, and CI/CD in an enterprise setting.
- Banking, financial services, or risk management domains.
