Who we are looking for.
Charles River Development is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer for the Core Services department to work Classic and Next Gen CRIMS Client Application. This position requires working on multiple strategic and key initiatives including NextGen UI Framework and Components, building a high performing low latency trading system with full observability capabilities. This is a full-time position for the Order Management team located at our Hyderabad Office in India.
Why is this role important to us.
The Senior Full Stack Engineer will contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of one or more Charles River Investment Management Solution (“IMS”) modules or components and help build components, frameworks for our next gen version of IMS using React for Frontend and Java for backend services that are cloud native. This position will also provide engineering assistance to customer support teams and other development teams within Charles River Development.
What you will be responsible for.
- Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions within Charles River’s business and technical problem domains, including modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operations.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create working and sustainable software of high complexity and low latency.
- Direct problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve advanced software technical issues.
- Develop, test, debug, and implement software using cloud computing, java, React, JavaScript, GenAI, and other related software engineering languages.
- Provide informed guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during code reviews.
- Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality performant product.
- Identify ways of improving the development of test methodologies and related test methodology frameworks.
- Conduct manual tests to ensure a high-quality product.
- Actively assist team leaders in the agile software development process by adhering to and advancing the CRD scrum methodology, including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Responsibilities:
- Drive technical excellence by working independently to analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions within Charles River’s business and technical problem domains including modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operation
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions for complex problems
- Provide thought leadership in the design of product architecture within and beyond the team’s scope of responsibility
- Direct problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve advanced software technical issues
- Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, or other related software engineering languages as well as keeping abreast of emerging technologies impactful to CRDs business
- Provide informed guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during code reviews
- Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high quality end product
- Identify ways of improving development test methodologies contribute to and related test methodology frameworks
- Conduct manual tests to ensure a high quality end product
- Provide expert level troubleshooting on large, mission critical client implementations
- Actively assist team leaders in the agile software development process by adhering to and advancing the CRD scrum methodology, including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
- Plan and coordinate cross-team activities groups to complete assignments
Preferred qualifications and education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field
Experience:
- Minimum 13+ years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience in core and enterprise java, including collections API, concurrency, multithreading, JDBC and web services.
- 8+ years of experience in designing and developing software solutions in a highly transactional, concurrent, event driven systems. Financial Trading systems experience is a huge plus.
- 8+ years of Cloud native application development experience in at least one of the cloud native platforms. Preferably, Microsoft Azure.
- 8+ years of Experience in Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka , cloud databases.
- Extensive experience in RDBMS(Oracle and SQL Server) with a solid understanding of the transactional database intricacies and expertise in writing complex and high performing SQLs.
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities involving multi-tiered, high-performance database applications
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop simple software solutions to business and technical problems of high complexity
- UI development experience in C#, React, Javascript is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment and also mentor junior staff as needed.
- Great understanding of Agile development methodology and software development practices and principles.
