At Applied Materials, our innovations make possible technology shaping the future.

Our Team

YTG group is a business unit within Applied Materials which develops and ships test systems for the display and packaging industry. Those systems are based on high-speed scanning electron beam microscopes. With those microscopes and our self-developed electronics, we detect signals and images for further processing. Thus, we perform complex data analysis and image processing algorithms to detect defects on memory and processors chips. The software team is responsible for controlling the electron beam, acquiring and processing those data and images. Your Opportunity Grow and enrich the existing team with the goal to build up a high visibility & high functional software team in India which works together with the engineering teams in Germany.

The position will entail the following:

  • Define and develop application flow, feature list considering UX requirements
  • Develop software mockup using standard tools
  • Work with algorithms, system, software and other teams to analyze alternative solutions and provide data for decision making
  • Define minimum viable product working with program/project management team
  • Understand and translate market requirement to product requirement
  • Tool performance and limitation analysis

Roles and Responsibility

  • Alignment: PR (pattern recognition) for alignment features, recognition, exclusion of false detections, analytics for PR success rate, methods to automatically find features with highest success rate of detection to set up reliable PR for alignment,
  • Defect detection: algorithms to detect defects with defect images and reference images, defect detection on periodic pattern, defect contour, defect topo evaluation from 4 perspectives, height measurement from 4 perspectives, ...
  • Analytics: find distortions of n-grades in structured images, noise reduction on images to find known features (like square on a very contaminated calibration plate)
