Data Analyst (Supply Chain / Inventory Analytics) with SQL Focus
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze inventory, demand, and customer order fulfillment data to identify trends, shortages, and supply chain risks.
- Perform pre-shortage analysis using transactional and planning data to improve component availability at the time of release.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, reports, and dashboards to monitor inventory health, material availability, and operational KPIs.
- Utilize Databricks and large datasets to support data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency initiatives.
Data Management & Planning Support
- Analyze MRP execution data to ensure supply-demand alignment and identify planning discrepancies.
- Validate master scheduling requirements and planning parameters through data analysis and system reviews.
- Monitor and report material shortage commitments, delivery performance, and fulfillment metrics.
- Support Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes through data validation and impact analysis.
- Conduct data audits and system validation activities to maintain high levels of data integrity and accuracy.
Inventory Analytics & Optimization
- Analyze inventory consumption patterns, stock levels, and service-level performance to recommend optimal inventory strategies.
- Forecast material and spare-parts requirements using historical usage trends and business demand signals.
- Investigate inventory variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives, including obsolete inventory analysis, cycle-counting programs, and inventory accuracy improvements.
- Generate actionable insights to reduce shortages, improve inventory turnover, and enhance customer fulfillment performance.
Stakeholder Management & Operational Support
- Partner with Procurement, Planning, and Operations teams to expedite critical materials and resolve supply constraints.
- Communicate data-driven recommendations and operational insights to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement projects by leveraging analytics to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for process enhancement.
Process Improvement & Root Cause Analysis
- Perform advanced data analysis to identify operational trends, recurring issues, and process inefficiencies.
- Apply structured problem-solving and critical-thinking methodologies to determine root causes and drive corrective actions.
- Develop metrics, reports, and performance indicators to monitor process effectiveness and support business objectives.
- Participate in process automation and reporting enhancement initiatives using SQL and Databricks.
Required Technical Skills
- Mandatory: Strong proficiency in SQL/Databricks for data extraction, transformation, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory, planning, and fulfillment datasets.
Problem Solving & Analytical Skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business problems using large datasets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong exposure to Critical Thinking, Root Cause Analysis, and Structured Problem-Solving techniques.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations, leveraging data, technical expertise, and business judgment to drive solutions.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and stakeholder communication skills.
