The Role

• Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM MQ environments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production.
• Monitor and troubleshoot IBM MQ queues, queue managers, channels, listeners, and clusters.
• Perform installation, configuration, administration, and basic troubleshooting of IBM ACE and IBM DataPower environments.
• Support Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) solutions and ensure seamless message flow between applications.
• Perform middleware upgrades, patching, migration, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
• Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to maintain optimal availability.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine administrative tasks using Shell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Work closely with application development, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve production issues.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and operational standards.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
• Participate in on-call support and work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in IBM MQ Administration.
• Good working knowledge of IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE).
• Experience with Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) concepts and middleware technologies.
• Hands-on experience with IBM DataPower Gateway administration and support.
• Fair knowledge of scripting using Shell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages for automation.
• Experience in middleware monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
• Familiarity with high availability, clustering, SSL/TLS, security, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Experience in production support for mission-critical enterprise environments.
• Exposure to ITIL processes such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• IBM Middleware-related certifications will be an added advantage.
• Experience with monitoring and automation tools is desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud).
• Knowledge of container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
