Live Streaming Software Engineer:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Live Streaming Software Engineer, with proven Python, Java, NodeJS experience, to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions that drive our business forward. We are part of Reuters, responsible of video processing and content distribution to both internal and external parties worldwide.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Python/Java/NodeJS -based live streaming applications and features. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, QA engineers and other top-talented engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers and enhance our business operations, to deliver live streaming news all over the world.
About the role:
- Manage and optimize cloud-based streaming infrastructure, including cloud acquisition, encoding, packaging, and origin services.
- Lead innovation initiatives to enhance the live streaming stack, bridging the gap between cloud technologies and production requirements.
- Work with emerging technologies and trends in the streaming industry to keep our live streaming capabilities at the cutting edge.
- Support new feature development by understanding its impact on live streaming operations and ensuring scalability.
- Develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable applications (Python, NodeJS, Java).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define software requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications are built using the latest best practices.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to cloud-based streaming components.
- Monitor live streaming events to ensure high-quality delivery and promptly address technical issues.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience on Python and Java backend cloud-based applications.
- 4+ years’ experience on Live Streaming (Wowza, TVU, AWS)
- 2+ years’ experience on NodeJS backend cloud-based applications.
- Experience and knowledge of cloud services, preferably of AWS.
- Understanding of agile development methodologies.
- Proven skills on maintainable and testable code.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
