The Role & The Team:

We are looking for a talented, motivated, and quality-focused Senior Test Automation Engineer to design testing procedures for our software applications. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing the functionality of applications and designing automated tests to validate their stability and performance. They will have a technical background, a strong analytical thinker, and a proven ability to analyze complex solutions and define the appropriate test strategy.

They will be a determined individual, who is confident to probe and question, and work with Developers and Product Owners to understand requirements and develop and maintain automated and manual tests. They will be responsible for active issue management in coordination within the team, communicating the cause, effect, and impact of those issues to the team, who can then prioritize appropriately. You will be responsible for coding, testing, and maintaining software systems, while mentoring and building the test capabilities of the agile teams.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the candidate will recognize areas for improvement across process, tooling, and ways of working, to identify quality approaches that can benefit your team and others.

What You Will Do:

  • Developing and maintaining test automation solutions, creating test plans, and test strategies for testing multiple product features
  • Will consistently test the product and be an SME for at least one component of the product
  • Works across teams to capture gaps and improve existing test plans for product features
  • Clearly communicates with Product team and understands requirements and is able to formulate test plans and estimates
  • Confident to participate and provide inputs, and work on cross-product company initiatives
  • Automation first approach for development and continuous testing
  • Develops and maintains test automation frameworks
  • Accurately Monitor Test Automation results and log bugs against the product and the tests
  • Is able to quickly analyze failures and trace back to issues in the product or the automation suite
  • Works closely with the developers to perform feature testing to ensure timely delivery
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability for progress - finds path when stuck with any issues or escalates if needed
  • Work with the DevOps and/or CloudOps teams to review test environments and processes to facilitate continuous improvement and maintenance of quality standards
  • Demonstrates application of new tools, approaches, and methods
  • Contribute to design reviews

What We Are Looking For:

  • Educated to degree level or master’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Test Engineer/Test Analyst position
  • Experienced in Automation testing using Pytest, Cypress, etc.
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs - Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, or other API testing frameworks
  • Coding competency in NodeJS, JavaScript and/or Python
  • Experience working within CI/CD environments - Jenkins.
  • Working knowledge of Test support tools - JIRA, Confluence, XRAY.
  • Experience in Cloud Technologies (preferably AWS, Azure) is a distinct advantage
  • Good Database Knowledge (SQL, Oracle Database)
  • Any knowledge or background with backups and storage domains
  • Working knowledge of Docker
  • Highly skilled and efficient in creating test strategies
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • AWS Accreditation a plus
  • Knowledge of Performance testing
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills including communication and assertiveness
  • Demonstrates a strong passion to learn
  • Knowledge of vulnerability and security concerns beneficial

Additional Information:

You will be required to be in the Letterkenny 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday), so will need to be within a reasonable commuting distance of the Letterkenny office. A free breakfast is provided two mornings a week.
