This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Risk Regulatory Reporting Analyst to play a pivotal role in ensuring Citi's compliance with Indian regulatory requirements, directly shaping the quality and integrity of credit risk data submitted to the Reserve Bank of India. Based within Citi's Risk Data Analytics, Reporting and Technology function, you will own end-to-end regulatory reporting processes across credit bureaus, working closely with senior leadership, business teams, and oversight functions to deliver accurate, timely, and audit-ready submissions. Your work will directly influence Citi's regulatory standing in India and the reliability of data used for portfolio monitoring and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation and submission of credit risk regulatory reports to the Reserve Bank of India, ensuring all returns meet accuracy and timeliness requirements.
- Oversee the submission of credit data to four credit bureaus, monitoring data quality metrics and taking corrective action where rejection rates or quality index scores require improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis on data rejected by credit bureaus and present findings and improvement plans to senior management to drive measurable gains in reporting quality.
- Coordinate fortnightly resubmission of rejected credit records across all bureaus, ensuring each cycle is completed within prescribed regulatory timelines.
- Monitor and resolve customer complaints and disputes received from credit bureaus and directly from customers, liaising with the internal ombudsman function and meeting regulatory resolution deadlines.
- Issue regulatory default notifications to affected customers following each fortnightly reporting cycle, in accordance with compliance obligations.
- Partner with business, risk, and technology teams to support the implementation of compliance frameworks and respond to audit, governance review, and regulatory inspection requirements.
- Provide business analysis input to risk data platforms and tools, contributing to solutions that improve reporting efficiency and meet ad hoc regulatory requests.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 10 or more years of experience in financial services, with direct exposure to risk regulatory reporting in the Indian banking context.
- Demonstrated ability to manage regulatory reporting obligations independently in a high-volume environment where priorities shift frequently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with practical use of VBA for reporting automation or process efficiency.
- Clear and confident communicator at all levels, with the ability to present complex data quality findings and compliance updates to senior stakeholders.
- Track record of managing multiple concurrent regulatory deliverables without compromising accuracy or deadline adherence.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Credit Information Companies reporting, including bureau submission processes and data quality frameworks.
- Familiarity with programming concepts, automation tools, or risk data systems that support regulatory reporting workflows.
- Exposure to RBI onsite inspections, internal audit reviews, or credit risk governance frameworks within a banking environment.
