Role Description
We are looking for an expert and forward-thinking Data Scientist/Expert to shape and deliver strategic COO initiatives, operating model improvements and process excellence priorities across the Private Bank. Role requires understanding the project requirement & the process flow to arrive at the automation solution and its implementation, final delivery of the complete solution back to business to significantly reduce operational risk & enhance efficiency.
The Private Bank Operating Model team sits within the global Private Bank Chief Operating Office. Our mission is to ensure a holistic view of the Private Bank’s operating model across client service, organizational structure, operations, and technology infrastructure, delivering measurable value and supporting strategic transformation across the business. The function owns the PB mandates for enterprise process management governance and oversight, process and service excellence, and strategic COO initiatives to drive overall operational excellence.
The Process and Service Excellence capability links the overall PB strategy to client journeys, product offering, IT platforms and organisational set-up by ensuring end-to-end process design, cost transparency and clear ownership. We work closely with Process Owners, Transformation, Front Office, COO, Operations, IT and control functions to identify pain points, drive accountability, align stakeholders and deliver sustainable process, service and operating model improvements.

Your key responsibilities
- Support the delivery of Process Excellence and Operating Model transformation initiatives by partnering with Business, Operations, Technology, and COO stakeholders to improve efficiency, control, and client outcomes.
- Leverage data analytics, visualization tools, and self-service dashboards to generate actionable insights, support decision-making, and enable data-driven management reporting.
- Assist in identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing automation, AI, and digital transformation opportunities through process assessments, benefit analysis, and business case development.
- Apply AI-first thinking and structured problem-solving approaches to reimagine processes, reduce manual interventions, improve productivity, and enhance operational resilience.
- Support the design, testing, implementation, and monitoring of automation solutions, including workflow automation, reporting solutions, AI-powered use cases, and process optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, track deliverables, obtain sign-offs, and ensure successful execution of strategic and operational improvement projects.
- Utilize data science and analytical techniques to identify trends, root causes, risks, and efficiency opportunities, translating complex findings into clear business recommendations.
- Support governance, change management, and project reporting activities by maintaining documentation, monitoring milestones, managing automation repositories, and ensuring effective adoption of new solutions.
- Provide ongoing support through troubleshooting, user training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement activities to maximize value realization from automation and AI-enabled solutions.
Your skills and experience
Essential Skills
- Strong foundation in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Advanced Analytics, Project execution.
- Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, CSS, HTML, Scripting, Power BI/Tableau, Excel/VBA, and AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., Copilot, GenAI platforms).
- Ability to leverage AI, Automation, and Data Analytics to identify opportunities for process optimization, risk reduction, and productivity enhancement.
- Knowledge of data modelling, predictive analytics, workflow automation, and intelligent decision-support solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an AI-first mindset to reimagine processes and deliver innovative business solutions.
- Experience in translating business requirements into scalable data, automation, and AI-driven solutions.
- Effective stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining strong governance, accuracy, and execution discipline.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6–9 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Automation Specialist, or Transformation professional, preferably within financial services or banking.
- Proven experience in process analysis, operating model design, process redesign, capability mapping, automation delivery, and execution of complex change or transformation initiatives.
- Hands-on experience in data analytics, dashboarding, reporting automation, AI/GenAI use cases, workflow automation, and intelligent decision-support solutions.
- Experience working in COO, transformation, strategy, business management, process excellence teams within financial services would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with banking products, Private Bank processes, operational risk, controls, and the impact of AI and automation on future operating models.
- Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Scrum, PMP, Data Science, AI/ML, or Process Mining would be an added advantage.
Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
