Senior High-Voltage Airborne Electronics Engineer – Power Distribution & Protection (all genders)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior High-Voltage Airborne Electronics Engineer (all genders) to design, develop, and validate high-performance power control and conversion hardware. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in power electronics design, component selection, simulation, PCB design, testing, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, efficient, and cost-effective power solutions.

Design and develop power electronics hardware including power distribution & protection units, solid-state power controllers and DC-DC converters. Capture requirements and manage them systematically in a traceable way. Create schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs for power electronic systems. Perform circuit analysis, simulations, and design optimization (thermal, EMI/EMC, efficiency, reliability). Select and qualify power components such as Power MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC / GaN devices, magnetics, and passive components. Lead prototype build, bring-up, debugging, and validation testing. Conduct failure analysis and implement design improvements. Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards (UL, IEC, ISO, etc.). Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, procurement and quality teams. Support production ramp-up, manufacturing test development, and field issue resolution. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and design reviews.

Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field. More than 5 years of professional experience. Strong background in power electronics theory and practical hardware design. Experience with electrical protection, power semiconductors, converter topologies and control methods. Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer ( preferred ), OrCAD, or KiCad . Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, power analysers, electronic loads). Solid understanding of electronics packaging, thermal management, EMI/EMC, and safety design. Ability to debug complex hardware issues independently. Experience with wide bandgap semiconductors ( SiC , GaN ). Familiarity with simulation tools (LTspice, PLECS, PSIM, MATLAB/Simulink). Knowledge of high-voltage and high-power systems. Experience with testing hardware under high-voltage (>800V). Experience with DO-254 process. Experience with aerospace & defence standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704).
