About the role

You'll build and operate the platform that produces Adobe's golden machine and container images at scale — spanning OS image builds (VM and container), the CI/CD that ships them, and the vulnerability/compliance signals that keep them secure. This is a hands-on engineering role where you own features end-to-end: design, code, pipeline, deployment, and production support. We move fast, so the ability to lean on AI tooling to multiply your output is essential, not optional.

Must-have qualifications

  • Experience: 2-4 years of professional software development experience, ideally on platform, infrastructure, or developer-tooling teams.
  • Data Structures & Algorithms: Strong grasp of DSA and algorithmic problem-solving.
  • Programming: Excellent coding skills with strong proficiency in Python and/or Java.
  • Cloud: Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure — compute (EC2, including bare-metal/metal instances), IAM, S3, networking, and cost-aware resource management.
  • CI/CD: Practical experience designing and maintaining pipelines with Jenkins (and/or GitHub Actions), including build parameterization, and release automation.
  • Containers & Orchestration: Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes; comfort with container image internals, base/hardened images, and image variants.
  • Databases & Observability: Strong SQL and query-writing skills; hands-on with monitoring/logging tools such as Splunk.
  • AI fluency (required): You use AI in your daily workflow and it shows in your throughput and quality. Specifically: Proficient with AI coding assistants and agentic tools (e.g., Claude Code / Cursor / Copilot or equivalent) for implementation, refactoring, debugging, test generation, and code review.
  • Strong prompt-writing skills — able to decompose a problem, give an agent the right context, constrain scope, and verify output rather than blindly accepting it.
  • Sound judgment on when to trust, verify, or override AI output — especially for security-sensitive image and pipeline code

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain image-build pipelines and the services/APIs around them.
  • Automate CI/CD, testing, and release for image flavors across cloud and on-prem targets.
  • Improve reliability, scan coverage, and time-to-patch for critical vulnerabilities.
  • Instrument systems with proper logging/metrics and drive down operational toil — including via AI-assisted automation.

Bonus

  • Knowledge of low-level and system design for build/infra platforms.
  • Experience with secure software supply chain (SBOMs, hardened/base images, provenance).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving team.
