Why Apply to Koombea?
Did you know that Koombea is one of Latin America's fastest-growing software development companies? We help our clients all over the world build digital products that make users' lives better.
By joining our team, you will not only receive amazing benefits and become part of a flexible and innovative work culture. You will also get to share directly with some of the region's most talented and intelligent software developers.
The Job
As a DevOps Engineer, your main goal is to design, build, and continuously improve repeatable Cloud infrastructure using AI as a core part of how you work. The foundation is solid engineering: you bring strong systems knowledge, automation instincts, and a security- and reliability-first mindset to keep production environments fast, stable, and observable.
What You'll Do
- Implement, configure, manage, and automate cloud infrastructure for multiple projects, using AI tools to accelerate IaC authoring, code review, and documentation
- Work across multiple development teams for planning, build, and release of application environments
- Define, implement, and continuously optimize CI/CD pipelines, leveraging AI to speed up troubleshooting and pipeline iteration
- Boost the performance and reliability of production environments
- Diagnose and resolve production outages, using AI-assisted log analysis and root-cause investigation to cut down response time
- Review, harden, and maintain infrastructure code and automation scripts, both yours and AI-generated
- Continuously evaluate industry and AI-tooling best practices and suggest improvements for the DevOps team
What You Bring To The Team
- +4 years of experience with Linux-based server administration and support (L2/L3) (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.)
- 3-4 years of experience programming for infrastructure automation: Shell (Bash), Python, or JS. You understand the logic well enough to read, debug, and extend AI-generated scripts, not just run them
- 2-3 years of experience with a cloud provider: AWS or similar (Azure, GCP, OCI, Digital Ocean, Linode)
- Real, daily experience using AI tools in your DevOps work: infrastructure-as-code generation, log/incident analysis, script writing, and documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. You can validate AI-suggested fixes, spot when a suggestion is subtly wrong, and know when an issue needs deeper structural work rather than a quick patch
- Soft skills to handle pressure during production issues and an automate-everything mindset
- Experience managing IP network protocols and services (DNS + domain management, HTTP(S), SSH, SMTP, etc.)
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools (e.g., Nmap, ping, ip, netstat, traceroute)
- Experience with configuration management and infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform, including reviewing and refining AI-generated modules
- Hands-on AWS experience: EC2, EBS, AMI, Application Load Balancer, Target Group, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, Route 53, NAT Gateways, VPC Networking, CloudWatch
- Able to deploy and maintain Ruby on Rails web applications in production (Laravel is a plus)
- Experience with CI/CD (CircleCI 2.0 is a plus)
- Experience with container technologies: Docker and AWS ECS
- Hands-on experience with data sources such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, etc.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Open-minded, willing to learn new topics, gather new skills, and adapt your workflow as AI tooling evolves
- Good written and spoken English for communication
We Offer You
- Flexible Working Schedule
- Remote Work
- Competitive Compensation
- Performance Bonuses
- Surprise Goodies
