Hedera is EVM-compatible and has been specifically built to meet the needs of enterprise and web3 applications, which require speed, security, stability and sustainability. Hedera’s public network is governed by industry-leading organizations, spanning 11 sectors and 14 regions who oversee the development and direction of the decentralized platform.

Why this role exist:

We are hiring an IT Operations Engineer to strengthen and scale our internal infrastructure, identity systems, and SaaS ecosystem as the organization grows. This role exists to ensure our systems are secure, reliable, and operationally efficient, while enabling seamless access, automation, and compliance across the business.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and operate scalable infrastructure across cloud and internal systems to ensure reliability and performance
  • Own and evolve identity and access management (IAM), including SSO, MFA, RBAC, and lifecycle automation
  • Improve operational efficiency through automation, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD enablement
  • Administer and optimize core SaaS platforms (Atlassian, Salesforce, NetSuite), ensuring strong integrations and access governance
  • Strengthen security posture through vulnerability management, patching, and system hardening
  • Partner cross-functionally with Security, HR, and Engineering to support onboarding, compliance, and system integrations

What success looks like in 6-12 months:

  • IAM is fully standardized and automated: SSO, MFA, and RBAC are consistently implemented with clear governance and minimal manual intervention
  • Security risk is materially reduced: vulnerability backlog is controlled, patching is consistent, and audit readiness is improved
  • SaaS and infrastructure systems operate smoothly: reduced friction, fewer incidents, and well-documented environments
  • Operational efficiency increases: automation and CI/CD adoption reduce manual work and improve deployment reliability

What you bring:

Core capabilities:

  • Strong systems and cloud engineering fundamentals across AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Proven experience designing and managing IAM systems (SSO, MFA, RBAC, lifecycle management)
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Security-first mindset with experience in vulnerability management and system hardening
  • Ownership mentality with the ability to independently drive systems and improvements

Functional expertise:

  • Infrastructure and systems engineering across Linux-based environments
  • Cloud platforms and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
  • SaaS administration and integrations (Atlassian, Salesforce, NetSuite or similar)
  • Monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting distributed systems

Nice to haves:

  • Exposure to web3 or blockchain ecosystems (nodes, RPC infrastructure, or dApps)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Background contributing to open-source projects or building mature DevOps practices
