About Scope3
Scope3 operates the Interchange for agent-to-agent advertising — the place where brands and their agents discover, negotiate, and transact across every advertising surface that matters: social, CTV, audio, AI interfaces, sponsored intelligence, and those still emerging. Built on AdCP, the open protocol for agentic advertising, with governance, transparent pricing, and full auditability built into every transaction.
Scope3 works with leading advertisers, agencies, publishers, and platforms globally, with fully remote teams across North America, Europe, and APAC.
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior or Staff Platform Software Engineer to improve the productivity, reliability, and scalability of our engineering organization while contributing directly to the evolution of our AI-native advertising marketplace.
You'll spend most of your time building the internal tooling, infrastructure, and developer experience that allows our engineers to move quickly and confidently. Because we're a small team building an ambitious product, you'll also jump into product engineering—helping design and implement features across our marketplace when priorities demand it.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy multiplying the effectiveness of an entire engineering team while remaining close to customer-facing software.
- We’re open to candidates at the Senior or Staff level. We care less about title than demonstrated technical judgment, ownership, and the ability to identify and drive improvements across our engineering organization.
Why this role is different
We're a small engineering team building in a rapidly evolving space. There isn't a mature playbook for many of the problems we're solving.
Success here requires engineers who:
- enjoy creating structure from ambiguity
- are comfortable balancing infrastructure investments with product delivery
- move quickly, iterate often, and improve systems continuously
- actively explore modern AI tooling and look for ways it can improve both engineering workflows and our product
If you're happiest working exclusively on internal infrastructure or exclusively on product features, this probably isn't the right fit. We believe our strongest engineers are excited to contribute across both.
Responsibilities
Platform Engineering (approximately 80%)
- Improve developer productivity through investments in tooling, automation, and engineering workflows
- Design and maintain scalable build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment infrastructure
- Improve the health and performance of our monorepo and shared engineering libraries
- Enhance local development workflows to reduce friction across the engineering team
- Build reusable infrastructure and internal tooling that accelerates product development
- Monitor system performance and resolve bottlenecks across services and developer workflows
- Partner with engineers across the organization to identify opportunities for platform improvements
Product Engineering (approximately 20%)
- Contribute production code across our AI-native advertising marketplace
- Help design scalable APIs and distributed systems supporting both human users and AI agents
- Collaborate with product and design to ship customer-facing capabilities
- Participate in architectural discussions around agent communication, authentication, and marketplace infrastructure
- Help evaluate emerging AI frameworks, protocols, and engineering patterns where appropriate
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated experience building and operating production systems.
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js experience
- Active, hands-on use of AI tools in your engineering workflow, with a track record of using AI to accelerate development, explore solutions, and improve engineering productivity.
- Experience designing scalable systems and developer infrastructure
- Experience improving CI/CD pipelines, build systems, or developer tooling
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and API design
- Experience diagnosing performance issues across applications and infrastructure
- Comfortable owning projects from concept through production
- Excellent collaborator who enjoys working across platform and product engineering
Nice to have
- Experience with Turborepo, Nx, or large monorepo architectures
- Kubernetes experience
- Google Cloud Platform / AWS
- GitHub Actions
- Observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, flame graphs)
- PostgreSQL, Redis, or BigQuery
- Experience building AI-enabled products, agent frameworks, MCP servers, or related tooling
