What We’re Building
Cello helps businesses turn their users into their best acquisition channel. Our product is the easiest way to embed user and partner referrals directly into the products you love to use. With just a few lines of code, a company is set up for hyper growth that runs on autopilot instead of spending money on ads.
Teams at Bolt, Miro, Typeform, VEED, and Descript already run their referral programs on Cello. which is proof that word-of-mouth can be engineered as a real growth channel, not being a nice to have.
We're a small, remote-first team that builds infrastructure that lives in other people's products. That means our bar for craft and attention to detail is exceptionally high. Our UI has to feel native inside other people's products that we don't control, our components have to hold up wildly across different use cases, and our decisions get scrutinized by the world's best growth, design and engineering teams. So in addition to caring deeply about how things look and feel, we need people who can think in systems, tracing how a decision plays out across different user segments and across levels of the product.
The Role
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to work closely with our founding designer, product and engineering teams on the core Cello experience. You'll be involved in every aspect of the product design cycle and expected to take ownership of the work end-to-end.
This role is fully remote but your work schedule needs to overlap comfortably with a European work day. We're an async-first culture that values deep focused work, but we still make time to get together in person at regular team off-sites.
What you will do
- Partner directly with our founding designer, product and engineering teams to take projects on our roadmap from rough problem to shipped solution.
- Look for opportunities to improve our existing product areas. Sometimes that's a full rethink of how something works, others itʼs fixing smaller quality issues you pick up in the product.
- Help define and improve our evolving design system.
- Bring our brand to life across marketing, social and launch content.
- Design mockups and prototypes in low and high fidelity to communicate ideas and how things might work.
- Be part of and contribute to a growing design culture that's still taking shape.
- Sweat the details that make embedded UI feel trustworthy.
What we are looking for
- Solid and proven software design experience
- Youʼve ideally designed software for SaaS businesses, but we also love to see range in the type of products youʼve worked on.
- Breadth of craft: Youʼre able to comfortably flex across visual design, product thinking, brand, and interaction design.
- Systems thinking: you can design components and patterns while thinking about how they fit into the broader system, but you also know when to push past convention and innovate.
- Courage to challenge ideas, try new things and push a product direction forward.
- Fluency designing in Figma and other prototyping tools. You also experiment regularly with new tooling.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills. We have an async work culture.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment, where the stakes are high and priorities can shift quickly. Bonus points if you have both in-house (especially at a startup) and agency experience.
What we offer:
- Remote-first, Europe-based (but must be within CET +/-3 hours)
- Competitive salary + eVSOPS
- Backed by leading VCs like HV Capital, byFounders, Notion Capital
❤️ In the end, it’s all about the team and our culture. Understand why we love our job and see what it’s like to work at Cello in our People Playbook. We have some compelling perks and benefits.
