Role Summary

The Cloud Network Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the enterprise cloud network architecture across multi-cloud environments. This role requires strong expertise in at least two of the major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and deep knowledge of hybrid connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.

The individual will lead the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance network solutions and collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, and on-prem network teams to ensure optimal connectivity and alignment with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Strategy

  • Define and maintain the enterprise cloud network architecture roadmap
  • Design scalable and secure Cloud WAN, VPC/VNet topologies, segmentation, and routing strategies
  • Establish network design standards, patterns, and governance models

Multi-Cloud & Hybrid Connectivity

  • Design and implement multi-cloud networking strategies and interconnectivity
  • Architect hybrid solutions integrating on-premises data centers with cloud environments
  • Lead implementation of VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and equivalent solutions
  • Deploy Cloud Network services through automation

Network Security

  • Define and enforce network security standards including segmentation, firewall policies, and traffic inspection
  • Implement security controls such as Security Groups, NSGs, and cloud-native firewalls
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams on compliance and governance requirements

Performance & Optimization

  • Optimize network performance, latency, and throughput across cloud environments
  • Design for high availability, failover, and disaster recovery
  • Identify opportunities for cost and performance optimization

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with on-prem network teams to optimize connectivity and routing
  • Work with cloud platforms, applications and security teams to align architecture with business needs
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to engineering teams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in networking, with at least 5+ years in cloud networking
  • Strong hands-on expertise in at least two cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Proven experience designing multi-cloud and hybrid network architectures
  • Strong knowledge of: IP addressing, CIDR, subnetting
  • Routing protocols and traffic management
  • DNS, load balancing, and network services
  • Network security and segmentation principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in enterprise cloud transformation programs
  • Expertise in: AWS Transit Gateway, Azure Virtual WAN, GCP networking constructs
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Network monitoring and observability tools
  • Industry certifications (preferred): AWS Advanced Networking Specialty
  • Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer
