We're looking for someone interested in finance and excited about challenging the status quo.
Our controlling team is great at what it does, but much of it still runs on semi manual work. We want to keep changing that, and we're convinced the person who'll do it best it's an engineer, business major, or data-minded problem-solver who's open to learn accounting/finance and bring modern data habits with them.
You'll join a team of controllers at a Continental Tires sales business, based in Spain and Portugal, reporting to the Controlling Manager for Iberia. We'll teach you the finance side. You'll teach us how to stop doing things the slow way.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Learn and take on real controlling work: Month-end close, reconciliations, budgeting, variance analysis, paired closely with the team while you build that knowledge.
- Spot the manual work: Repetitive manual tasks that eat everyone's time, and automate them starting with quick, visible wins.
- Build and maintain Power BI reporting: To stop rebuilding the same output by hand every month.
- Loop in the company's automation team: When something's worth their time, you're the one who spots and scopes it for controlling.
- Share what you build: Walk the team through it, document it, make sure your work outlives you and empower your teammates.
WHY THIS ROLE
You'll have real ownership from day one. You'll help modernize how the finance department works, with the backing to make real changes. And you'll be doing it inside a team that's deliberately built to rotate knowledge around rather than let it pile up with one person including you.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- A bachelor’s degree in industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or Management Engineering, Business Administration, or Information Systems, or something similarly quantitative and technical. We're specifically not looking for Accounting or pure Software/CS backgrounds, we want quantitative rigor and an automation-first instinct.
- 0–4 years of experience, prior finance exposure is not an exclusion factor. What matters is a track record of solving quantitative problems and building or automating something, even informally.
- Advanced Excel, and comfort with (or fast aptitude for) Power BI, SQL, and/or Python.
- A fast, structured way of thinking, you'll be taught a lot in a short time and need to keep up.
- Fluent Spanish and/or Portuguese, plus working English.
- A mindset that gets genuinely annoyed doing the same task twice and builds the fix instead.
NICE TO HAVE
- Any exposure to RPA (UiPath, Power Automate or similar).
- SQL or Python beyond the basics..
