Who We Are

Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.

Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.

About The Role:

Millions of people use Notion — and this number is increasing every day. That means millions of people trust us to deliver a fast, reliable, and secure experience, and we value this more than anything. We want to keep earning trust, while also continuing to amaze our users with the tools they can build in Notion.

The Product Analytics Platform team owns the foundational systems that turn Notion's raw product signals into reliable and actionable insights at scale: how we instrument events, experiment and roll out features, define and trust metrics, and build analytics surfaces that interact with AI agents.. This is an early, high-leverage moment. You’ll join a newly formed team of talented engineers in our mission to build the best in class foundational platforms that are key to the company’s business and product.

What You'll Achieve:

  • You'll help shape a brand-new platform team and have real influence over the architecture and roadmap.
  • You'll own critical infrastructure that spans experimentation, feature gating, event logging, schematization, governance and play a pivotal role in the development of systems, tools and infrastructure that are key to reliable and trustworthy instrumentation
  • You'll build self-serve analytic platforms that builds on top of events, metrics, and experiments to power workflows used by AI agents
  • You'll work cross-functionally with engineers and partners from the Product, Data Science, Data Engineering and AI teams to enable new product analytics use cases
  • You’ll work on all levels of the stack including infrastructure, libraries and product code as needed to successfully build and deliver internal platforms that provide high leverage to multiple product teams
  • You'll be responsible for monitoring and operating systems in production. You’ll understand systems deeply, optimize performance and evolve critical production systems with minimal user disruption.

Skills You'll Need to Bring:

  • Curiosity in working across the stack: You enjoy understanding systems end-to-end—from product surfaces to infrastructure and data flows—and improving them with a hands-on, learn-by-doing mindset.
  • Data-driven approach to building & improving systems: You use metrics, traces, logs, and experiments to diagnose issues, validate hypotheses, and prioritize the fixes that deliver the most impact.
  • A knack for ergonomic developer & agentic tooling: You build interfaces that are intuitive and hard to misuse—thoughtful APIs, clear docs, and extensible patterns that help other engineers move faster.
  • Pragmatic and business-oriented: You care about the business impact of what you're building, and you prioritize projects accordingly. You're not just going after cool stuff—you understand the balance between craft, speed, and the bottom line.
  • Team player: You understand work is better, together. You enjoy collaborating cross-functionally to accomplish shared goals, and you care about learning, growing, and helping others to do the same.

Nice to Haves:

  • You're comfortable working in a full-stack in Typescript and node.js ecosystem and building SDKs on client-facing systems
  • You have 3+ years of experience working on data or infrastructure-focused engineering teams. You've experienced the challenges of scaling and re-architecting event-based platforms and analytics infrastructure through orders of magnitude of growth and scaling data volume.
  • You have past experience working directly on experimentation and product analytic platforms like Statsig, Amplitude, Growthbook, Posthog (including building systems in-house) or building metric frameworks
  • You've worked on developer or agent-facing tooling, building APIs, MCPs, CLIs that integrate with our CI/CD pipelines
