About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Shift Engineer to support 24x7 Facilities Operations and ensure reliable operation of critical electrical infrastructure and utility systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement of high-voltage power distribution systems supporting manufacturing and facility operations.

The role requires hands-on experience with 220 kV GIS Substations, 33 kV Distribution Systems, 6.6 kV Networks, HT/LT Power Systems, Transformers, UPS, DG Sets, and Critical Utility Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Operations

  • Operate and monitor 220 kV GIS, 33 kV, and 6.6 kV electrical distribution systems.
  • Ensure safe and reliable operation of HT/LT power distribution networks.
  • Perform electrical switching, isolation, energization, and shutdown activities.
  • Monitor electrical parameters, load distribution, and power quality.
  • Coordinate with utility providers and internal stakeholders to maintain uninterrupted power supply.

GIS & Substation Operations

  • Operate and maintain Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) systems.
  • Monitor SF₆ gas parameters, GIS breakers, disconnectors, and protection systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and condition monitoring of GIS equipment.
  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance of substations and switchgear.

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and ensure rapid restoration of systems.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures.
  • Support reliability improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Person should have proficiency in using Gen AI Tools, Copilot, Copilot library & Agent bots.

Critical Utility Support

  • Support facility systems including: HVAC Plants
  • Chillers
  • Air Compressors
  • Water & Wastewater Systems
  • Gas Systems
  • Cleanroom Utilities
  • Building Infrastructure

Safety & Compliance

  • Implement Electrical Safety, LOTO, PTW, Arc Flash, and EHS procedures.
  • Participate in emergency response activities.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain shift logbooks and maintenance records.
  • Record alarms, incidents, breakdowns, and corrective actions.
  • Update CMMS/SAP maintenance systems.
  • Prepare operational and reliability reports.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering
