As a U.S. Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely federal and state income tax returns for individuals, estates, and exempt organizations. This role requires a solid understanding of U.S. tax regulations, attention to detail, and the ability to follow client-specific instructions. You will work closely with reviewers and team leads to ensure compliance, quality, and efficiency throughout the tax preparation process.

About the Role:

For Individual / Trust Tax Returns (1040 / 1041 Returns)

Prepare accurate and timely federal, state, and city tax returns in accordance with client-specific instructions and deadlines.

  • Make corrections and adjustments to tax returns based on reviewer feedback.
  • Assist in the development and preparation of in-house training materials.
  • Support team members by resolving tax-related queries and providing guidance as needed.
  • Participate in induction programs and attend tax update training sessions as required.
  • Perform document verification in SPbinder, when applicable.
  • Effectively communicate and present information and respond to queries from managers and clients in a clear and professional manner.

For Business Tax Returns (Form 1065, 1120S)

  • Prepare accurate tax returns for various business entities, including partnerships (Form 1065), S-Corps (Form 1120S), and C-Corps (Form 1120) with federal, states and local in accordance with client-specific instructions and deadlines.
  • Familiar with preparation of various workpapers related to entity for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Make corrections and adjustments to tax returns based on reviewer feedback.
  • Assist in the development and preparation of in-house training materials.
  • Support team members by resolving tax-related queries and providing guidance as needed.
  • Participate in induction programs and attend tax update training sessions as required.
  • Effectively communicate and present information and respond to queries from managers and clients in a clear and professional manner.

About You:

For Individual / Trust Tax Returns (1040 / 1041 Returns)

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in U.S. taxation.
  • Familiarity with SPBinder is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of key tax concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of both U.S. and Indian taxation systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Practical exposure to various aspects of taxation.
  • Good understanding of applicable tax rates and laws.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients and address their queries professionally.
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Master of Commerce Preferred)

For Business Tax Returns (Form 1065, 1120S)

  • Possesses strong accounting expertise and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyse Trial Balance, Profit & Loss statements, and Balance Sheets.
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to develop and manage diverse workpapers efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of key tax concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of both U.S. and Indian taxation systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Practical exposure to various aspects of taxation.
  • Good understanding of applicable tax rates and laws.
