Who We Are
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
About The Role:
We're looking for a Head of Enterprise Segment, Japan to lead Notion's Enterprise GTM motion in Japan as we evolve how we sell, build, and deliver outcomes for our largest customers. This is a senior second-line leadership role, leading leaders and teams across the Enterprise segment, with accountability for new logo acquisition, expansion, renewals, and the quality of execution that produces durable customer outcomes.
This person will play an integral role in scaling Notion's evolving GTM motion in Japan. You'll help define what great looks like for the Enterprise segment: how teams identify the right accounts, create urgency with executives, diagnose workflows, run compelling first and second meetings, deliver live builds and value narratives, and hand customers off into adoption with clarity. This is not a traditional pipeline-management role. The best leaders in this motion are coaches first: they can inspect the quality of a customer conversation, watch a live build or deal review, and tell a manager or IC exactly what to change.
As part of the Japan GTM leadership team, you'll be instrumental in helping define our Enterprise sales motion, meaningfully shape our product and customer strategy, and drive revenue growth while building a high-performing team. We need someone with an entrepreneurial and builder spirit, strong enterprise operating discipline, and experience leading through managers. This person should enjoy coaching leaders and reps to be the best they can be, be data-driven, and be experienced in managing complex, high-velocity Enterprise pipeline across new business, expansion, and renewal motions.
What You'll Achieve:
- Lead the Japan Enterprise Segment strategy, including territory design, account prioritization, pipeline generation, executive engagement, expansion strategy, renewal health, and long-term revenue growth
- Lead and develop first-line leaders and senior ICs across the Enterprise motion, raising the bar on coaching quality, operating cadence, performance management, and team execution
- Own the commercial performance of the Enterprise segment across new logo ARR, expansion ARR, renewals, and UBP outcomes, accountable for both the headline numbers and the quality of execution that drives them
- Scale the evolved GTM motion in-market, including account strategy, workflow diagnosis, current → future architecture, live builds in Notion, value narratives, mutual action plans, and adoption hand-offs
- Build the operating rhythm and inspection cadence for the segment, including weekly pipeline reviews, deal support sessions, call reviews against the motion quality rubric, forecast calls, and leadership reporting
- Partner with Solutions Consultants and Outcomes Architects (Sales and Customer Success), BDR, Partnerships, Marketing, Deal Desk, Ops, Legal, and Product to build playbooks and define how Notion wins with Enterprise customers in Japan
- Partner with BDR leadership on Enterprise pipeline strategy, outbound targeting, qualification standards, and messaging so the team's book of business is healthy and growing
- Partner with Solutions Consultant and Outcomes Architect leadership on adoption hand-offs, at-risk account management, and renewal strategy, owning the overall commercial arc while collaborating on execution after close
- Represent Japan Enterprise customer and team signal in regional and global leadership forums, clearly identifying what's working, what needs investment, and where execution is breaking down
- Attract, hire, onboard, certify, and retain a world-class Enterprise organization, building a culture of high performance, coaching, accountability, and collaboration
Skills You'll Need to Bring:
- 10+ years of B2B SaaS, AI, productivity, collaboration, or workflow technology experience, with a proven track record of winning and growing Enterprise customers
- 3+ years of second-line leadership experience, with experience leading managers or multiple teams through a defined operating cadence, performance management, and talent development rhythm
- Strong understanding of PLG and SLG sales motions, with successful experience combining bottom-up adoption with top-down executive selling in Enterprise accounts
- Proven ability to scale a GTM transformation or new sales motion, including enablement, inspection, manager coaching, playbook adoption, and consistent execution across teams
- Strong enterprise customer instincts, with the ability to guide teams through complex discovery, multi-stakeholder evaluation, technical validation, business case creation, and adoption planning
- Deep coaching orientation: you can inspect a deal review, customer call, or live build and identify specifically what needs to change, not just whether the outcome was good
- Strong analytical judgment, able to read pipeline health, identify risk early, use customer and team signal to build strategy, and drive urgency without micromanaging
- Excellent cross-functional leadership skills, with experience partnering across Sales, Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Partnerships, Operations, Legal, and Deal Desk
- A builder mentality who thrives in collaborative environments, operates well in ambiguity, and creates structure, playbooks, and operating rhythms where they do not yet exist
- Executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior customer stakeholders and represent Japan Enterprise priorities to regional and global leadership
- Fluency in Japanese (native or bilingual level) and English (high-business level)
- You don't need to be an AI expert, but you're curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter, coach better, and deliver stronger customer outcomes.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience leading Enterprise GTM in Japan or across APAC for a high-growth SaaS or AI company
- Experience leading through a major GTM organizational change, sales methodology rollout, segment redesign, or role redesign across Enterprise teams
- Experience selling or leading teams in a consumption, usage-based, or adoption-led business where customer outcomes matter as much as closed ARR
- Track record building high-performing regional teams from an early stage, including hiring to profile, structured onboarding, certification, and performance management
- Strong technical fluency or experience working closely with technical sales, solutions consulting, product, implementation, or partner teams
- Experience selling through or partnering with systems integrators, channel partners, or strategic alliances in Japan
- Experience with quarterly or annual sales planning, territory planning, and Enterprise capacity planning
A Note on AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.
