Who We Are
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
About The Role:
We are seeking a marketing professional who combines strategy and execution, owning demand gen programs and campaigns for the SMB sales segment and startups in Japan. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including the Japan sales org, Japan and global marketing teams, and external agencies—to plan and deliver programs that drive results.
In addition, this role supports growth of Notion’s startup program by building awareness and driving trial acquisition, partnering with the Global/APAC startup team to execute marketing activities and recruit partners.
You may also support other marketing initiatives to unlock the full potential of the business in Japan.
What You'll Achieve:
- Develop a strong understanding of the Notion product and the SMB user/buyer journey to identify the highest-impact plays for the segment. Partner with SMB Sales leadership to set program priorities, define target audiences and goals, and align on campaign plans—proactively communicating progress, results, and learnings to stakeholders.
- Own end-to-end execution of events and webinars—from planning and logistics through day-of delivery and post-event lead management—translating the agreed program plan into flawless execution. Partner closely with SDRs to ensure timely follow-up, clean lead handoffs, and maximum pipeline impact.
- Execute demand gen campaigns in our marketing automation platform (e.g., nurture/engagement programs), including audience/segmentation setup and campaign builds, in coordination with Japan + global marketing teams on content and messaging (e.g., gated offers).
- Partner with APAC Marketing Ops and BizTech to keep GTM systems running smoothly (marketing automation platform, Salesforce, Outreach, Sansan)—including intake/ticketing, operational processes, and system governance (e.g., lead scoring changes, integrations, and best practices).
- Own lead and pipeline reporting for the SMB segment, tracking key KPIs and regularly assessing pipeline health to inform optimizations across programs.
- Increase awareness of the Notion for Startups program among early-stage startups and drive acquisition of startup trials through localized, high-velocity campaigns.
Skills You'll Need to Bring:
- 5–7 years of experience managing and executing demand generation programs and campaigns for B2B companies.
- Proven track record of hitting aggressive growth goals by leveraging campaigns such as email and webinars, with expertise in end-to-end campaign development, execution, and measurement.
- Proficiency with marketing automation platforms, SFDC, Outreach, Sansan and Figma.
- Customer-centric and insight-driven. You understand the customer journey and each influencer in the decision-making process, and you use customer insights to design campaigns.
- Strong cross-functional relationship-building skills. You’ve worked closely with sales, content, SDRs and operations partners.
- Experience planning and executing webinars from start to finish.
- Previous experience working with global teams.
- Proficient in fluent-level Japanese and business-level English, both written and verbal.
- You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you’re curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.
- A builder mindset
Nice to Haves:
- Be a Notion power user and are already an advocate for the tool.
- Track record of interacting with startup founders, VC firms, and incubators
A Note on AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.
