The gap between mid and senior is rarely about knowing more technology
It is about scope of ownership and how much certainty other people can take from your work. A senior engineer takes a vague problem, decides what to build, tells the team what they chose and why, and is trusted to have covered the failure cases. If you are waiting for a promotion, ask which of those you are already doing and which you are not.
