Remote | Independent Contractor | 30 openings
Estimated annualized equivalent is based on 40 hours/week × 48 working weeks. This is not guaranteed annual compensation; actual earnings depend on hours worked and project availability.
About the Role
We are seeking experienced Hospitalist Physicians to contribute clinical expertise to a project focused on inpatient care, medical record review, and documentation standards. You’ll apply your knowledge of hospital medicine and clinical documentation to help evaluate and improve AI systems using high-quality, real-world medical information.
The work centers on reviewing clinical records, assessing whether information is supported by the underlying documentation, and identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or inaccuracies. Strong inpatient experience and careful attention to clinical detail are essential.
What You’ll Do
Review medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, for AI training and evaluation.
Determine whether clinical information and claims are supported by the available medical record.
Review inpatient documentation, including history of present illness (HPI), past medical history (PMH), assessments, and plans.
Apply defined review guidelines and maintain consistent standards across records.
Identify missing, incorrect, unsupported, or inconsistent information within medical documentation.
Provide structured feedback to help improve AI models and overall data quality.
Clearly communicate findings and observations to the project team.
Required Qualifications
MD or DO with board certification in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Hospital Medicine.
Current or recent inpatient/hospitalist experience within the last 2 years.
Strong understanding of inpatient documentation and hospital workflows.
Comfortable reviewing clinical notes and raw medical record data.
Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently apply defined guidelines.
Ability to communicate clinical findings and documentation issues clearly.
Preferred Experience
Chart review experience.
Clinical documentation improvement (CDI).
Utilization review.
Medical coding or quality assurance (QA).
Experience working across different inpatient services or specialties.
