About the Opportunity

We are seeking licensed professional counselors to apply their clinical expertise to the evaluation and improvement of advanced artificial intelligence systems.

In this role, you will create realistic counseling scenarios—including situations involving clinical risk and ethical decision-making—and evaluate AI-generated responses for clinical accuracy, therapeutic reasoning, ethics, and appropriate risk handling.

Your professional judgment will help identify whether an AI response provides genuinely appropriate clinical reasoning rather than simply sounding empathetic or supportive.

What You’ll Do

• Develop realistic counseling and behavioral health scenarios based on professional practice.

• Create scenarios involving risk assessment, safety considerations, ethical dilemmas, and clinical decision-making.

• Write reference responses that explain the therapeutic and clinical reasoning behind appropriate decisions.

• Evaluate AI-generated counseling responses for clinical accuracy, ethical appropriateness, and risk management.

• Identify responses that appear empathetic but fail to appropriately recognize or manage clinical risk.

• Clearly explain why a response is appropriate, incomplete, inaccurate, unsafe, or outside the appropriate scope of practice.

• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered LPC or LMHC license in the United States.

• At least 2 years of counseling practice after licensure.

• Direct experience with treatment planning and safety assessment.

• Experience applying evidence-based counseling approaches or modalities.

• Strong written English and the ability to document clinical reasoning clearly.

• Ability to commit at least 10 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialized clinical experience in trauma.

• Substance use counseling experience.

• Couples counseling experience.

• Adolescent counseling experience.

• Crisis line or community mental health experience.

• Clinical supervision or counselor education experience.

Work Arrangement

• Fully remote.
