About the Role

Apply your software engineering expertise to challenging development tasks that test real-world programming, debugging, performance optimization, and technical problem-solving skills. This opportunity is suited to experienced engineers who can work across complex codebases, implement features, resolve difficult bugs, and evaluate software solutions with strong engineering judgment.

You’ll create realistic coding challenges for AI systems, develop solutions and deterministic verifiers, and help evaluate whether implementations correctly satisfy technical requirements. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

• Create realistic and challenging coding tasks involving feature implementation and bug fixing.

• Develop and modify software components across backend systems and services.

• Implement complex features within large-scale applications.

• Work effectively with existing codebases and architectures.

Debugging & Performance

• Identify and resolve complex software bugs.

• Diagnose system bottlenecks and performance issues.

• Optimize software for performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Refactor existing codebases to improve quality and efficiency.

Testing & Verification

• Develop deterministic verifiers that accept reasonable valid solutions and reject invalid implementations.

• Use automated testing to validate software behavior and correctness.

• Evaluate implementations against expected functionality and edge cases.

• Ensure coding tasks and verification logic are precise and reliable.

Code Review & Technical Evaluation

• Review software implementations for correctness, quality, and maintainability.

• Apply strong engineering judgment when assessing different approaches.

• Use algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science principles to evaluate solutions.

• Provide clear technical reasoning and feedback.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong software engineering experience with scalable services and APIs.

• Professional experience with one or more of:

  • Python

  • Java

  • Rust

  • TypeScript

  • C++

  • Go

  • Node.js

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

• Experience implementing software features and resolving complex bugs.

• Experience with performance optimization and automated testing.

• Strong code review instincts and software quality judgment.

• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science concepts.

• Experience refactoring and improving established codebases.

• Ability to work with large or unfamiliar software projects.

• Strong analytical and technical communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality technical outputs.
