Service Advisor

About the Role

Service Advisor in the Service department of an automobile dealership. Greet customers, understand vehicle service/repair requirements, prepare job cards, explain repairs and costs, coordinate with technicians, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and understand their vehicle service/repair requirements.
• Prepare accurate job cards based on customer complaints and vehicle condition.
• Explain required repairs, service work, and estimated costs to customers.
• Coordinate with technicians for timely completion of service jobs.
• Monitor job progress and keep customers updated about vehicle status.
• Prepare service estimates and obtain customer approval before additional work.
• Conduct vehicle inspection and explain recommended repairs to customers.
• Ensure proper documentation and updating of service records.
• Coordinate vehicle delivery after completion of work.
• Explain completed work, invoice details, and maintenance recommendations at delivery.
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally.
• Achieve customer satisfaction, service revenue, and productivity targets.
• Follow company and OEM service processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Good communication and customer‑handling skills.
• Basic knowledge of automobile service and vehicle systems.
• Good coordination and problem‑solving ability.
• Computer knowledge and ability to use service/dealer management software.
• Ability to work under targets and handle multiple customers.
• 1–3 years experience preferred in automobile service/advisory roles; freshers with relevant automobile qualifications may be considered.
