Workday Payroll Consultant

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll Consultant to support the implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of Workday Payroll solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in payroll processes along with hands-on experience in Workday Payroll modules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support end-to-end implementation of Workday Payroll solutions

• Gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications

• Configure payroll components including:

  • Earnings and deductions

  • Payroll calculations

  • Taxes and compliance settings

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as:

  • Workday HCM

  • Workday Time Tracking

  • Workday Benefits

• Support payroll integrations with third-party systems (banking, tax authorities, benefits vendors)

• Perform testing activities (Unit Testing, SIT, UAT) and resolve defects

• Assist in payroll parallel runs and go-live activities

• Provide post-go-live support and handle payroll-related issues

• Ensure compliance with local payroll regulations and statutory requirements

• Prepare documentation including BRDs, FDDs, and user guides

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3–8+ years of experience in payroll systems, with strong exposure to Workday Payroll

• Hands-on experience in Workday Payroll configuration and implementation

• Strong understanding of payroll processes, taxation, and compliance (US/UK/India or relevant region)

• Experience with Workday Studio, EIB, or integrations is a plus

• Knowledge of data migration and payroll conversions

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Workday Payroll Certification

• Experience in multi-country payroll implementations

• Prior experience in consulting or client-facing roles

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
