About the role:

We are looking for a seasoned, independent-minded senior manager to own Teachmint's business finance charter. We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Business Finance Manager who will play a pivotal role in financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting. This individual will work independently to ensure structured financial monitoring and will be directly accountable for incentive governance, margin protection, and monitoring topline and margin achievements against planned budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial strategy and business insights
  • Own the design and evolution of dashboards and financial reporting frameworks used by the CFO and leadership team, not only their upkeep. •
  • Lead the incentive and pricing strategy conversation using invoicing, expense and margin data, and present recommendations directly to leadership.
  • Set the standard for tracking customer balances, advances and key balance sheet items, and hold the wider team accountable to it.

Incentive governance:

  • Own the incentive policy end-to-end, including design revisions, not only calculation and compliance checks.
  • Approve budgeted versus actual spend variances above a defined threshold and escalate cost efficiency risks proactively rather than on request.

Reporting, controls and team leadership :

  • Own the weekly and monthly MIS reporting cycle for leadership review, including the narrative that accompanies the numbers.
  • Design and institutionalize controls for financial transaction reconciliation across the business, rather than only executing them.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • AI exposure, advanced excel, or related tool skills in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, at a level where you build the model rather than maintain one built by someone else.
  • CA, CFA, or MBA, with 6 to 8 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in FP&A, business finance, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and MIS reporting at a senior or lead level.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex financial data sets and convert analysis into decisions leadership can act on, not only reports leadership can read.
  • Strong exposure to cost control, spend management, reconciliations, working capital and financial controls, including having designed or redesigned at least one control process.
  • Experience managing or mentoring at least one direct report, and the confidence to work closely with the CFO and leadership team with minimal supervision.
  • Strong ownership, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to hold a position with senior stakeholders when the data supports it.

What sets Teachmint apart:

  • A fast-growing, result-oriented workplace.
  • A culture of innovation and collaboration where every voice matters.
  • An opportunity to drive meaningful change in the education sector at a senior, high-visibility level.
  • Support for your growth and learning as a leader and professional.
  • Based in Bengaluru, working closely with the leadership team, with travel to customer sites, meetings, and events as required.
  • Flexible work hours may be required to accommodate customer schedules and leadership reporting cycles.
  • Performance-based compensation structure, with incentives tied to business and functional targets.

Ready to make a lasting impact:

Be able to strengthen the function and walk towards the IPO journey.
