ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a senior, technically strong Staff Product Manager to own dealer experience applications and integrations within Tekion's GM Digital Retail Platform (DRP) program. This is a high-visibility, end-to-end product ownership role — you will define the dealer-facing product experience while simultaneously owning the integration architecture that connects Tekion's AEC platform to GM's DRP infrastructure.
You will operate at the intersection of OEM program management, platform engineering, and dealer-facing product design — serving as the connective tissue between GM's business and technical teams, Tekion's engineering organization, and the dealer community. This is an IC Staff PM role requiring deep technical fluency, strong stakeholder management across complex enterprise partnerships, and the ability to ship product in a fast-moving OEM program environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own Dealer Experience End-to-End
Define, prioritize, and drive the product roadmap for dealer-facing capabilities within GM DRP — spanning the deal configuration experience, digital retailing flows, F&I presentation, and dealer portal workflows.
- Lead Integration Strategy & Execution
Own the integration architecture between Tekion's AEC platform and GM's DRP infrastructure — including inventory syndication, pricing/deal data contracts, real-time status sync, and OEM-mandated API standards.
- Own the Scrum Team Backlog
Write clear, actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and feature specifications. Maintain a well-groomed backlog that balances OEM program milestones, dealer experience improvements, and platform stability.
- Define & Enforce Data Contracts
Collaborate with platform and data engineering teams to design robust API schemas, webhooks, and event-driven data flows; ensure data integrity across DMS, GM DRP, and third-party systems.
- Drive GM OEM & Dealer Success Alignment
Act as the primary product interface for GM's business and technical teams; translate OEM program requirements into well-scoped product deliverables. Align with Dealer Success teams to capture and close field feedback loops.
- Define & Track Success Metrics
Establish KPIs across dealer adoption, deal completion rates, integration reliability (uptime/latency), and error rates. Iterate rapidly based on data signals and dealer feedback.
- Troubleshoot Integrations Hands-On
Demonstrate technical depth in diagnosing API failures, data sync mismatches, and event pipeline issues. Partner with engineering to resolve root causes — not just triage.
- Facilitate Cross-Functional Prioritization
Navigate competing priorities across Engineering, GM OEM, Dealer Success, Design, and Platform teams. Communicate trade-offs with clarity to senior leadership.
- Drive Change Management & Dealer Adoption
Partner with Dealer Success and enablement teams to build rollout plans, training assets, and adoption playbooks for new features and integration changes.
- Support Platform Scalability & Compliance
Ensure all dealer experience features and integrations meet GM's compliance, security, and certification requirements. Contribute to quarterly OEM program reviews.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of Product Management experience
Preferably in platform products, OEM/enterprise integrations, or digital retail technology.
- Strong technical command of system integrations
Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, webhooks, event-driven architectures (Kafka or equivalent), and API authentication patterns.
- Proven ability to translate OEM or enterprise requirements into product
Experience working directly with large enterprise partners (OEMs, enterprise SaaS customers) and decomposing complex requirements into actionable roadmaps.
- Data-driven product mindset
Comfortable defining schemas, reporting views, and analytics instrumentation. Experience tracking and iterating on product KPIs end-to-end.
- Excellent stakeholder management
Demonstrated ability to align diverse stakeholders — engineering, OEM business teams, field/dealer success, and executive leadership — across complex programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to author crisp product specs, integration design docs, and executive-level summaries equally well.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, IT, Engineering, Business, or a related field
GOOD TO HAVE
- Experience in automotive retail technology, DMS platforms, or dealer-facing digital products.
- Familiarity with OEM digital retail programs, or certified DMS integrations.
- Background in automotive deal desking, F&I workflows, or vehicle configuration systems.
- Experience working with AI/ML-powered platform capabilities or agentic integrations.
- Prior exposure to OEM certification and compliance processes.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN AT TEKION
This role gives you end-to-end ownership of a strategic OEM program — rare for a Staff PM. You will:
- Shape the dealer experience for one of the largest automotive OEM digital retail programs in the US.
- Own the full integration surface between Tekion AEC and GM DRP — not just feature delivery.
- Build lasting partnerships with GM's engineering and business teams, influencing roadmap at the OEM level.
- Operate at Staff-level scope with direct executive visibility and program accountability.
