As a Senior Flight Control System Engineer, you will hold a key position within our Flight Control Team, working at the intersection of real-world UAV systems, flight control theory, algorithm development, software implementation, verification and validation. ​

Between intense whiteboard sessions to conceptualize the next groundbreaking solution, focused implementation of algorithms, simulation testing, iterations, flight test, flight data analysis and documentation, you will be working at the very core of our system.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

  • Conceptualize effective and safe flight control solutions to complex multi-domain problems concerning flight stability, performance and safety​.
  • Participate in shaping flight control system architecture and interface design decisions to ensure continuous scalability and flexibility of the flight control software and other autopilot components​.
  • Help coordinate and optimize the team‘s workflow between concept reviews, implementation, code reviews, simulation and flight testing, log data analysis and documentation​.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other stakeholders across team boundaries such as test pilots, product managers, software and hardware developers of all other UAV and ground system components​.
  • Maintain continuous overview over flight operations, prototype operations and testing results to identify possible problems and solutions.

What you bring to the team:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Flight Control System design, preferably both multirotor and fixed wing control​.
  • Intuitive, internalized understanding of flight physics and flight dynamics.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with control theory and controller implementation​.
  • Strong proficiency in Matlab/Simulink .
  • Experience writing and analyzing C/C++ Code​.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with digital signal processing and data analysis​.
  • Ability to work within and across highly specialized teams, efficiently communicate and coordinate.
