Who we are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team
Stripe's Financial Crimes, Compliance and Risk Oversight (FinCRO) organization serves as Stripe's second line of defense, ensuring we operate as a responsible steward of the global financial ecosystem. Within FinCRO, the Product Enablement team sits at the intersection of compliance and product—partnering directly with product and engineering teams to build innovative, compliant financial products from the ground up.
What you’ll do
We’re looking for a product enablement advisor to help Stripe build ambitious new products and bring them to market responsibly. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Engineering, GTM, Legal, and Risk, from the earliest stages of ideation through launch, helping teams understand the regulatory and financial crime considerations that shape product design, identify viable paths forward, and make informed decisions at speed.
As Stripe builds innovative products, you will apply curiosity, sound judgment, and strong subject matter expertise to reason from first principles and provide practical, clear guidance for product teams. You will also influence product roadmaps and design decisions and help teams to effectively navigate options to meet launch requirements.
You’ll gain broad exposure to Stripe’s global product suite, senior leaders, and complex cross-functional decisions, while helping shape how Stripe enables innovation safely and at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with product teams from ideation through launch, shaping product designs to enable innovation while addressing relevant compliance and financial crime risks early.
- Lead compliance reviews and product risk assessments for material new launches and feature expansions, providing clear, risk-based recommendations.
- Influence product roadmaps and design decisions, translating compliance requirements into clear, actionable product, control, and reporting expectations.
- Support product governance efforts and Board engagement, including documenting and presenting product requirements and tracking implementation.
- Lead with a first-principles approach, bringing sound judgment to novel product questions and helping teams identify practical, sustainable paths forward.
- Work closely with Regional Compliance Officers, Money Laundering Reporting Officers, Legal, and other SMEs to support execution across complex, cross-functional product designs.
- Help product and business teams build durable compliance capabilities by making established requirements, precedents, and standards easy to understand and apply independently, driving a “compliant by design” approach.
- Contribute to building a strong culture of compliance across Stripe’s teams.
- Leverage AI and agentic tools to scale compliance product enablement—including accelerating product risk assessments, regulatory research, and requirements documentation—while applying rigorous judgment to novel, complex, or precedent-setting decisions and validating AI-generated outputs.
Who You Are
Minimum Requirements
- 9+ years of experience building and managing compliance programs in regulated financial services, preferably in fintech, payments, or banking.
- Experience evaluating emerging products for compliance risk, working with product and business stakeholders to implement creative solutions for compliance requirements, and conducting relevant product risk assessments.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and financial crimes/AML practices, with an understanding of the risk landscape applicable to a company like Stripe.
- Proven ability to independently lead multiple complex projects and programs, from ambiguous early questions through implementation.
- Ability to interpret regulations and regulatory guidance, identify the underlying risks they are intended to address, and translate those requirements into comprehensive, proportionate compliance programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills—including the ability to develop clear, well-reasoned recommendations and explain complex regulatory concepts clearly to non-compliance audiences.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to build relationships with senior leaders and manage competing priorities.
- Intellectual curiosity and comfort operating at the frontier, including exploring unfamiliar markets, product types, and regulatory frameworks.
- Sound, independent judgment in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
- Genuine interest in financial product innovation and an eagerness to drive the industry forward by building and scaling products responsibly.
- Demonstrated AI fluency, creativity, and judgment—actively identifies opportunities to solve compliance problems, improve product enablement, and turn repeatable work into scalable solutions. Uses AI to accelerate research, requirements mapping, and routine guidance while maintaining appropriate oversight of AI-generated outputs.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience using AI or agentic tools in a compliance or regulatory context (e.g., for policy drafting, risk assessments, regulatory research, or workflow automation)
- Experience with stablecoin, crypto, or emerging payments product compliance
- ACAMS, CRCM, ICA (Diploma or Advanced Certificate), or an equivalent certification
