We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer UAS / Aviation who will play a pivotal role in the future of our company. Our Solutions Engineer will be responsible for the integration, validation, and operational readiness of Auterion-powered drone systems. You’ll collaborate closely with the production team, as well hardware engineering, firmware/software teams, and operations while ensuring that every platform transitions successfully from a physical airframe into a fully validated flying robot ready for deployment. This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes drone technology and enjoys bridging the gap between hardware, firmware, and real-world flight performance.

Responsibilities and Duties

Operate in a highly hands-on environment with evolving system requirements, rapidly iterating across hardware and software integration challenges

Perform firmware flashing and configuration using PX4 and/or other autopilot ecosystems, including sensor calibration, ESC tuning, and system bring-up

Execute End-of-Line (EoL) software validation and functional testing to ensure production readiness and reliability

Conduct payload and camera load-seat testing, validating integration stability and operational performance under real-world conditions

Troubleshoot embedded system issues spanning firmware, communication interfaces, sensors, and hardware-software interactions

Work independently to diagnose integration and flight-readiness issues while collaborating closely with engineering and manufacturing teams

Contribute to validation workflows for complete UAV systems, including components, integrated features, and operational flight configurations

Support full-stack drone integration activities across hardware, embedded firmware, and flight software layers

Solve complex integration and reliability challenges involving sensors, flight controllers, communication protocols, and power systems

Drive measurable impact on product quality, manufacturing throughput, and deployment readiness through improved validation and testing processes

Partner cross-functionally with hardware engineering, firmware/software teams, operations, and QC engineering to accelerate batch validation and reduce EoL cycle times

Interface with external vendors and equipment providers to support testing infrastructure, hardware integration, and operational readiness

Participate in hands-on flight testing activities to validate platform stability, safety, and mission performance

Qualifications and Skills

B.Sc. in Aviation Technology, Robotics, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field (M.Sc. optional)

Hands-on experience working with Autopilot, Mission planning and navigation Software, including firmware flashing, configuration, and flight validation

Strong technical foundation in embedded systems, firmware debugging, and hardware-software integration

Proficiency in C/C++ and/or MAVLink communication protocols or equivalent Datalink protocols

Experience with UAV sensor calibration, ESC tuning, and flight controller configuration

Familiarity with Linux-based development and debugging environments

Experience with UAV flight testing, system validation, and troubleshooting in real-world operational environments

Understanding of drone manufacturing, QC processes, and End-of-Line testing methodologies is a plus

Strong collaboration and communication skills when working with cross-functional engineering and operations teams

Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments with evolving technical challenges

Passion for drone technology and a hands-on engineering mindset focused on building reliable flying systems

EU citizenship required
