Role Overview
The Data Presales Solution Architect is a senior client-facing role at the intersection of data strategy, analytics architecture, and consultative sales. This person serves as CentriLogic’s lead technical voice for data engagements, translating client challenges into practical, commercially viable solutions built on Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Purview, Power BI, Copilot capabilities, and the broader Azure data platform.
You will lead presales engagements from discovery through proposal delivery in partnership with Account Executives, SMEs, and delivery teams. Work includes governance assessments, analytics modernization, platform consolidation, real-time intelligence, managed services positioning, and AI-readiness programs built on a governed and trusted data foundation.
The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on Microsoft data platform experience with strong consultative presales skills and executive presence. They can engage credibly with business and technical stakeholders, bring clarity to complex decisions, and apply AI acceleration responsibly with sound governance, validation, security, and engineering judgment.
Primary Responsibilities
Solution Architecture Development
- Design end-to-end data platforms on Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Lakeflow Connect, Spark, semantic models, and Real-Time Intelligence where needed.
- Architect governance solutions with Microsoft Purview and Unity Catalog, including cataloging, lineage, quality, classification, protection, and governed access across multi-source data estates.
- Design scalable, auditable analytics environments using medallion architecture, Delta Lake principles, and Power BI/Fabric-native reporting patterns.
- Define AI-readiness requirements and secure conversational access patterns for Copilot, data agents, and natural-language-to-SQL, DAX, and KQL experiences.
- Size and scope engagements using structured discovery and ROM estimates and define delivery models spanning projects and ongoing managed services.
Technical Consultation
- Act as a senior technical advisor to sales leadership, account teams, and clients throughout the sales cycle.
- Engage executives and data leaders on strategy, governance maturity, analytics modernization, compliance, and roadmap priorities.
- Lead discovery workshops, assessments, and maturity evaluations to identify gaps and shape solution direction.
- Translate complex data, governance, and AI capabilities into business value, ROI narratives, and executive-ready presentations.
- Maintain current expertise across Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview, Unity Catalog, Power BI, Synapse, Copilot in Fabric, AI functions, and the evolving Microsoft data and AI roadmap.
Sales Support
- Partner with Account Executives to advance opportunities with strong technical credibility and strategic recommendations.
- Own the technical narrative in RFPs, proposals, competitive pursuits, executive briefings, and Statements of Work.
- Develop estimates, pricing approaches, business cases, and tailored solution proposals.
- Lead proof-of-concepts and demonstrations that show measurable governance, analytics, and AI-augmented outcomes.
- Help generate pipeline through industry presence, relationships, and trusted client engagement.
Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts
- Partner with SMEs across Cloud, Security, AI, ERP, and Managed Services to shape holistic, feasible solutions.
- Work with delivery teams to validate solution designs before submission and support project kick-off alignment.
- Conduct peer reviews and due diligence to maintain scope integrity, delivery alignment, and proposal quality.
- Contribute reusable assets, intellectual property, and internal enablement to strengthen the Data practice.
Qualifications
Education
- University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
Experience
- 7+ years in data architecture, data engineering, analytics consulting, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years in presales, solution architecture, or a customer-facing advisory role.
- Proven experience designing enterprise data platforms with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, or comparable modern analytics platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, Unity Catalog or equivalent governance tools for cataloging, metadata, lineage, and control frameworks.
- Practical experience enabling semantic models, metadata, and governance for Copilot, natural-language query, and agentic access patterns.
- Strong track record leading discovery, writing proposals, sizing engagements, delivering executive presentations, and advancing deals.

- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Purview, including catalog, map, lineage, quality, policy, classification, sensitivity labeling, and governance operating models.
- Unity Catalog: centralized governance across Azure Databricks workspaces, including catalog, schema, table, and volume-level access controls, lineage, discovery, row/column-level security patterns, and alignment with Microsoft Purview for cross-platform governance.
- Experience governing Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse, and Warehouse assets and applying compliance frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, SOX, and HIPAA.
- Understanding of how governance quality supports safe, reliable Copilot and agentic data experiences.
Analytics and Business Intelligence
- Strong Power BI skills across semantic model design, DAX, dashboards, row-level security, Direct Lake, deployment pipelines, and governed self-service BI.
- Experience preparing semantic models and metadata to improve Copilot, data agent relevance, trust, and accuracy.
- Knowledge of data literacy enablement and migration paths from Azure Analysis Services to Fabric-based models.
Data Architecture and Engineering
- Expertise in medallion architecture, Delta Lake, dimensional and relational modeling, and batch/streaming pipeline design with monitoring and error handling.
- Experience with Azure services such as Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse, Cosmos DB, and Azure AI Search.
- Ability to design descriptive schemas, metadata, scoped data products, and validation patterns that support accurate, production-ready natural-language access to governed data.
Presales and Client Engagement
- Strong solution-selling, proposal writing, SOW development, effort estimation, pricing support, and POC/demo design skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage both C-suite stakeholders and technical architects.
- Ability to travel within the Greater Toronto Area, nationally, and to the United States as required.
