Team and Responsibilities

Apache Pinot is a distributed analytics data store that is rapidly becoming the go-to solution for building real-time analytical applications at scale. Pinot stands out in this crowded space due to its ability to deliver low-latency performance for high-throughput analytical queries. For instance, Pinot powers mission-critical use cases, such as LinkedIn’s “Who Viewed My Profile” and Uber’s “Restaurant Manager,” which require the ability to execute high-throughput (thousands of requests/second) analytical queries within milliseconds.

Job Description

• Design, develop, and test distributed software applications.
• Design and implement fault tolerant systems to ensure service availability and guarantees in the presence of catastrophic failures.
• Evaluate and analyze requirements from other engineering teams for various applications.
• Coordinate with other teams to resolve urgent software issues in deployed services.
• Leverage various monitoring and alerting services to solve intricate programming problems at scale.

Skills:

• Programming language concepts: Java, Go, Python
• Relational database concepts, familiarity with SQL
• Debugging and monitoring for production services
• Operating System Concepts: Networking, Multi-threading, POSIX
• UNIX/LINUX Scripting
• Dependency management tools such as Maven, Artifactory,
• Source control system: git and svn
