Job Description – Project Management & Sales Executive

Job Title: Project Management & Sales Executive – Aerospace & Gas Turbine Components
CTC: Up to ₹6 Lakhs per annum
Location: Bangalore
Industry: Aerospace / Gas Turbine / Precision Engineering / CNC Machining
Department: Sales & Project Management
Reporting To: General Manager / Director

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and technically oriented Project Management & Sales Executive to manage customer requirements, develop new business opportunities, coordinate manufacturing projects, and ensure timely delivery of precision-machined components.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable interacting with customers as well as working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchase and Stores teams.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Management

    • Act as the primary coordinator between the customer and internal teams after receipt of an order.

    • Prepare and maintain project schedules covering raw material, tooling, fixtures, programming, machining, inspection and dispatch.

    • Monitor project progress against planned delivery dates.

    • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality and Suppliers to resolve bottlenecks.

    • Proactively communicate delays, risks and changes to customers and management.

    • Ensure customer-specific requirements and documentation are completed on time.

  2. MIS & Reporting

    • Maintain sales pipeline, RFQ status, order status and project trackers.

    • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on enquiries, quotations, orders, sales and project progress.

    • Maintain accurate customer and project information in ERP/CRM systems.

    • Track order profitability, delivery performance and customer requirements.

  3. Customer & Sales Development

    • Identify and develop new customers in aerospace, gas turbine, defence, industrial turbine and precision-engineering sectors.

    • Generate leads through customer mapping, LinkedIn, email, exhibitions, referrals and other channels.

    • Maintain regular communication with existing customers and develop long-term relationships.

    • Understand customer requirements and coordinate internally for RFQ preparation and quotations.

    • Follow up on quotations, purchase orders, delivery schedules and payment status.

    • Support negotiation of pricing, lead time and commercial terms.

  4. Technical Coordination

    • Understand engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs and basic GD&T (preferred, not compulsory)

    • Coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams for technical clarifications.

    • Handle customer queries related to manufacturing feasibility, inspection, quality documentation and delivery.

    • Coordinate customer feedback, complaints and corrective actions with the relevant departments.

  5. Business Development

    • Research potential customers and target markets in India and overseas.

    • Support development of new aerospace and gas-turbine customers.

    • Participate in customer meetings, audits, exhibitions and supplier-development activities.

    • Develop a strong understanding of the company's manufacturing capabilities and communicate these effectively to prospective customers.

Qualification

Preferred:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.

  • Diploma holders with strong machining/manufacturing experience can also be considered.

Recommended Experience

Ideal: 1–4 years of experience. Exception made for exceptional and technically sharp freshers.

Industry preference

Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:

  • Aerospace component manufacturing

  • Gas turbine component manufacturing

  • Precision VMC machining

  • Defence manufacturing

  • Automotive/auto-component machining

  • Tool & die / high-precision manufacturing

  • Industrial equipment manufacturing

  • MRO / turbine component industry

Aerospace or gas-turbine experience is preferred but NOT mandatory.

A candidate from a good VMC machining/precision-engineering company with 1–4 years of experience and strong customer-handling skills could be equally suitable.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Good technical understanding of VMC machining and precision components.

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (preferred, not compulsory)

  • Basic understanding of GD&T, machining processes and inspection requirements.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good customer follow-up and relationship-management skills.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong follow-up and ownership mentality.

  • Good Excel/ERP skills.

  • Willingness to travel to customers when required.

  • Commercial awareness and willingness to learn sales.

  • Ability to work independently in a small/mid-sized manufacturing environment.

Key Personality Traits

Technically curious + commercially aggressive + organized + good at follow-up + comfortable talking to customers.

Avoid candidates who are either:

  • purely technical and uncomfortable with customers, or

  • purely sales-oriented with little understanding of manufacturing.
