Product Teams at Target Corporation are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytic products that are easy to use, easily maintained and highly reliable. Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all product, technology and design work.
The Director of Available to Promise (ATP) will lead two strategic product portfolios: Availability and the Guest Fulfillment Optimization Engine (GFOE).
Availability
The Availability portfolio delivers accurate and reliable availability and fulfillment information to Target’s digital guests. The portfolio enables capabilities that maximize digitally purchasable assortment, encourage store visits, improve the guest experience, and reduce fulfillment costs - while meeting the performance, reliability, and scalability demands of Target’s digital platform.
Guest Fulfillment Optimization Engine (GFOE)
The GFOE portfolio delivers optimization and decision-intelligence capabilities that support multiple products across Target’s omnichannel fulfillment ecosystem. In close partnership with Data Science, Analytics, and Engineering teams, this portfolio develops scalable solutions that use historical data, predictive insights, and optimization techniques to address complex business problems. These intelligence signals enable downstream fulfillment products to make better decisions, reduce fulfillment costs, and elevate the overall guest experience.
The role will lead a team of product managers to develop product plans to deliver features in service of optimizing digital purchasability, improving digital profitability, ship expense reduction, and delivery date accuracy. This position is accountable to collaborate with multiple enterprise teams to establish priorities and remove roadblocks to maximize productivity and deliver business value.
As a Product Director, you will set the overall strategic vision for your product space and product team, are accountable for succeeding against identified business outcomes and metrics, will set and manage the product’s budget and financials, set the short- and long-term product goals, and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
You will be accountable for building, coaching, and mentoring a strong team of product owners while also building a strong team culture of progress, transparency, and efficiency across Product teams. You will be responsible to elevate your collective team’s performance by providing insightful, motivating, and constructive feedback to all roles on the team while also working with senior leadership and peers across pyramids to negotiate and remove execution related barriers for your teams.
You will drive product discovery with key stakeholders to validate hypotheses and concepts with customers before committing engineering time, as you lead highly complex work across multiple pyramids, with interrelated specialties. You will leverage data and analytics to provide competitive analysis, drive decision making, assess the health and effectiveness of your products and related P&L impacts, and to deliver recommendations to key stakeholders.
It will be critical that you understand retail or similar areas, relevant technologies and design principles to drive innovative and scalable solutions across multiple pyramids within Target.

About you:
- 4-year college degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree in technology, engineering, business, supply chain, operations, or a related field is a plus.
- 10+ years of retail experience or equivalent fulfillment domain experience
- 3-5 years of product management experience in retail on equivalent domain
- Experience partnering with Data Science teams to develop and scale data-driven, algorithmic, or optimization products
- Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams across geographies
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to influence both at a strategic leadership level and cross functionally
- Expert at working in the agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
- Strategic mindset and bias for action with strong ability for strategic planning, defining ORKs and driving business outcomes
- Ability to lead and influence a team while fostering relationships across multiple enterprise-wide teams
