Who we're looking for

This is a hands on role supporting the Legal and Compliance function across the group, with day to day ownership of contracting, regulatory tracking and secretarial support. The person will work directly with the Head of Legal and Compliance and will interface with product, business, alliances, finance, risk, the group Company Secretaries and external counsel.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and close commercial contracts on standard templates, including vendor and service agreements, NDAs, SaaS and technology agreements, alliance, affiliate and DSA agreements, addenda and statements of work, escalating non standard positions.
  • Run high-volume, low complexity documentation with committed turnaround, including payout and commercial addenda, renewals and campaign documentation.
  • Maintain the contract repository, tracker and version control, and drive renewals, expiries and closure of open points.
  • Track RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, NPCI and IFSCA circulars and amendments relevant to the group and prepare summaries and impact notes.
  • Assist with regulatory filings, audit and inspection observations, policy updates and internal compliance trackers.
  • Coordinate legal notices, consumer forum matters and grievance escalations with external counsel, including preparing case briefs and collating records.
  • Support corporate secretarial work for group entities: board and committee meeting logistics, notices, agendas, minutes, resolutions, statutory registers, MCA filings and annual filings.

Exposure the role offers

The role sits across the full spread of the group's legal and regulatory work and offers direct exposure, working alongside the Head of Legal and Compliance, to:

  • Lending and borrowing documentation for the NBFC across the lender stack, including term loans, NCDs, co-lending, DLG and sourcing arrangements.
  • Payments and PPI work, including bank and network arrangements, escrow structures, NPCI and card network requirements and the co-branded card ecosystem.
  • Regulatory correspondence, inspections, audits, and license and authorization applications across RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, NPCI and IFSCA.
  • Product counseling on new launches, customer-facing terms, key fact statements, disclosures and marketing collateral.
  • Data protection and information security workstreams under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and RBI outsourcing and IT governance frameworks.
  • Board and committee-level advisory, governance, and policy frameworks across the group entities.
  • Diligence during fundraises and corporate transactions.

What is needed for this role

  • LL.B. or LL.M. from a recognized university.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in an in-house legal team of a bank, NBFC, fintech, or payments company, or in a law firm with a financial services or technology practice.
  • Hands-on drafting and redlining ability in commercial contracts, with clear reasoning on risk and fallback positions.
  • Working knowledge of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, the Companies Act, 2013, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
  • Strong written English, structured thinking, attention to detail and comfort with high volume work under deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with business stakeholders and to escalate the right issues at the right time.

Good to have

  • Qualified Company Secretary (ICSI), or CS Professional cleared.
  • Practical exposure to MCA filings on the V2 and V3 portals, board and general meeting processes and statutory registers.
  • Familiarity with at least one regulated financial services framework, for example the RBI frameworks on prepaid payment instruments, digital lending, KYC or NBFC scale based regulation.
  • Exposure to payments, cards, UPI or NPCI circulars, or to insurance broking or investment advisory regulations.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management or a legal repository system.

Why you should work with us

  • We like people who behave like owners and see projects through to completion.
  • We take pleasure in tackling meaningful problems and crafting delightful customer experiences.
  • We appreciate healthy conflict, ownership, and commitment—we value consent over consensus.
  • We constantly raise the bar. If you crave continuous learning and growth, Jupiter is the right place.
