About the role

Sutherland is looking for an air-travel-savvy Team Manager to lead a team on one of our growing airline programs in Cairo. This is a hands-on people-leadership role for someone with a genuine passion for air travel, working knowledge of airline products and the Sabre platform, and a track record of getting the best out of a sales team. You'll lead a team of consultative air sales / Destination Expert representatives — coaching them to deliver white-glove service while meeting and exceeding sales targets, and owning the performance, quality, and development of your people.

What you'll do

You'll lead your team to carry out the following with white-glove service, while hitting and beating targets:

• Consultative Air Sales — coach the team so every air request, especially the large, complex, or high-value ones, is handled as a sales conversation, not just a booking to fulfil.
• Itinerary crafting — ensure air itineraries are researched, built, and proposed accurately priced, aligned to client needs, and optimised for value — on the same day they're requested.
• Booking integrity — hold the team to ticketing and quality control with the accuracy clients and the business depend on: fare, ticket, invoice, seats, and special requests, checked every time.
• Disruption resilience — make sure schedule changes are assessed for real impact on the client's trip and resolved calmly, quickly, and without disrupting the tour.
• Seamless partnership — work with the Destination Experts and clients so the air experience feels like one seamless trip, not a separate booking bolted onto the tour.
• Responsive communication — set the standard across every channel — phone, Teams, email, CRM — for the responsiveness and clarity clients and colleagues can count on, especially when something is urgent.
• Systems and ownership — keep bookings, files, and systems airtight, taking ownership of your files and your team's, so nothing falls through the cracks.

Beyond the day-to-day, you'll run a clear performance rhythm — using quality and sales data to coach where it matters most, developing each team member, managing underperformance fairly and directly, and keeping the team motivated and engaged in a fast-moving, target-driven environment.

What you'll need

• 2+ years of team leadership experience within the air travel industry (luxury travel sales preferred).
• Sabre GDS experience is a must — enough working knowledge to coach the team through fares, ticketing, and booking issues, and to hold quality with credibility.
• Proven ability to coach, monitor, and develop a team of sales professionals within this niche industry.
• Deep passion for travel and strong destination knowledge.
• Polished, articulate communicator with high emotional intelligence and active listening skills.
• Strong organisation and high attention to detail to manage multiple call types and priorities simultaneously.
• Self-motivated, and comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative environment.
