The Debt Capital Markets (DCM) team plays a critical role in delivering financing solutions and executing debt transactions for a broad range of Citi clients across India.
The team works closely with Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Leveraged Finance and Markets partners to provide strategic funding solutions that support clients’ capital, liquidity and growth objectives.
The role will support a broad range of debt financing solutions, including:
- Corporate loans and acquisition financing
- Bridge and interim financing facilities
- Syndicated and club loan transactions
- Investment-grade bond issuances
- High-yield and structured debt solutions
- Offshore funding and liability management transactions
- Sustainable and ESG-linked financing solutions
- Working capital and strategic financing facilities
The successful candidate will work closely with Corporate Bank, Investment Banking, Leveraged Finance, Markets, Sales & Trading, Risk and Legal partners to originate, structure and execute financing transactions. The role requires strong understanding of India's financing landscape, capital markets, client funding requirements and transaction execution, with a strong focus on governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on capital structure, funding strategy and debt financing alternatives.
- Lead the execution of debt capital market transactions across a diverse corporate and financial institution client base.
- Structure financing solutions that align client objectives with prevailing market conditions and investor appetite.
- Support the execution of syndicated loan, acquisition financing and debt capital market transactions from mandate through closing.
- Analyse funding markets, financing alternatives, pricing dynamics and relative value opportunities.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the Indian loan and debt capital markets environment, including regulatory and market developments.
- Prepare transaction materials, client presentations and strategic financing recommendations.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, lenders, investors and key internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to franchise growth through market intelligence, client engagement and identification of new business opportunities.
- Foster a strong risk and control culture while ensuring adherence to Citi policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- 7–10 years of experience in Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Corporate Banking or related financing businesses.
- Strong understanding of the Indian corporate lending and debt capital markets landscape.
- Solid understanding of credit analysis, capital structure considerations and financing products.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or a related discipline; advanced qualifications preferred.
