As a Senior Specialty Consultative Pharmacist yourprimary responsibility will be to assess and evaluate the conditions of our members, with an emphasis on medication therapy, through telephonic interactions to ensure they achieve and maintain wellness. Additionally, you will develop and implement comprehensive care plans, monitor patient progress through regular assessments, and use advanced telecommunication systems to provide medication education. You will demonstrate your clinical expertise. In this role you will have an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients with serious and rare health conditions within a supportive and professional environment.

Assignments:

  • Inbound/Outbound calls to members.
  • Review prescriptions for accuracy
  • Check for drug-drug interactions
  • Evaluate appropriateness of disease state, dosage, directions and therapy
  • Utilize electronic resources and guidelines to assist in professional decision making

Required Qualifications

  • Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Active Pharmacist license from the state of Florida, Texas, Ohio or Arizona Board of Pharmacy without restrictions or disciplinary action.
  • Minimum three, (3) years of experience as a pharmacist in a high-volume retail, hospital or mail order pharmacy practice environment
  • Participate in Federal prescription programs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and OneNote
  • Knowledge navigating multiple systems, platforms and troubleshoot and resolve general technical difficulties in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pharmacist Board Certification – Oncology, Specialty, Geriatric, Pharmacotherapy, and Ambulatory
  • Proficient in Spanish
  • Previous experience in a Specialty Pharmacy setting
  • Previous experience with Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM)
  • Previous Commercial, Medicare, or Medicaid experience
  • Previous clinical experience in managed care

Additional Information

Workstyle: Remote

Location: Must reside inOhio, Florida, Texas or Arizona only

Training Schedule: 40-hour work week Eastern Time 2-4 week training Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:30 pm Eastern

Department Schedule: Typically, 40-hour work week Eastern Time - Leaders will discuss during the interview

  • Business Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.; Saturday, 8:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
  • Schedule: This position follows a standard Monday–Friday schedule with the following shift structure:
  • Three standard shifts: 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Two late shifts: 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (scheduled Monday–Thursday) Note: The Friday late shift is not fixed and will be part of a rotating schedule.
  • In addition to weekday coverage, this role includes rotating Friday closing responsibilities as well as rotating Saturday shift coverage.
  • Holiday rotation and mandatory overtime may be required to meet business needs.

Work-At-Home Requirements This position will require you to have a minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps. Wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership. Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense. Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
