About the Opportunity
We are seeking a senior Business & Sales Operations Domain Expert to work alongside AI research and program management teams developing and evaluating next-generation generative AI systems.
This role is designed for an experienced operator with genuine ownership of business, revenue, or sales operations—not a generalist or individual quota-carrying sales professional.
You will use your practical operating expertise to evaluate AI-generated business workflows, define what high-quality work looks like, create benchmark tasks, and translate real-world operational judgment into clear evaluation standards.
What You'll Do
- Review business and sales operations tasks and AI-generated outputs for accuracy, completeness, and practical usefulness.
- Identify flawed assumptions, missing steps, weak reasoning, inconsistent numbers, and outputs that would not withstand a real operating review.
- Write detailed instruction specifications and create high-quality gold-standard solutions for business operations problems.
- Develop realistic, challenging evaluation tasks and benchmark datasets.
- Help define domain-specific capabilities, workflows, and tools for AI systems.
- Work with researchers and specialists across adjacent domains to calibrate evaluation standards.
- Translate practical, experience-based operating judgment into clear and teachable criteria.
- Provide precise, structured written feedback to improve AI model performance.
Core Qualifications
- 4+ years of substantive ownership of a business, revenue, or sales operations function within a recognized organization.
- Demonstrated progression into a senior role such as Manager, Senior Manager, Director, VP, COO, or President, with meaningful ownership of a function, budget, or team.
- Deep expertise in at least one relevant area, such as: Sales operations, territory, or quota design
- Revenue operations and forecasting
- CRM and go-to-market systems
- Pricing and deal desk
- Supply chain and inventory planning
- Business analytics
- Process improvement
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Hands-on professional experience using large language models and generative AI tools.
- Strong ability to distinguish genuinely correct, well-reasoned outputs from plausible but incorrect answers.
- Excellent written communication and ability to provide precise, structured feedback.
- Ability to commit to 40 hours per week for an initial 6-month engagement.
Location & Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid position based in the Bay Area, California.
You must currently live in the Bay Area and be able to work on-site with the client team multiple days each week when required.
Candidates outside the Bay Area must be willing to relocate at their own expense before the engagement begins. Relocation assistance is not provided.
Employment Details
- Full-time W-2 employment.
- Employer-sponsored payroll, benefits, and compliance administration.
- Client-issued accounts and equipment may be provided.
- Work directly alongside client research and program teams using enterprise tools and workflows.
- Initial engagement expected to last 6 months, subject to business needs and performance.
Why Join
- Work directly with teams developing frontier generative AI systems.
- Apply your real-world operations expertise to high-impact AI development.
- Help define how AI models reason about business and sales operations.
- Shape evaluation standards, benchmarks, and workflows that influence future AI capabilities.
- Collaborate with experienced researchers and specialists across multiple business domains.
Ideal Candidate: A senior business or sales operations leader who has personally owned meaningful operating functions and can combine deep domain expertise with strong AI fluency, analytical judgment, and precise written communication.
